Watched him all through the pre-season games and both league games. He's played just one season as a CB and, to me, it shows. His distribution is very good, his positioning isn't and he's very slow with the ball at his feet. Personally, not impressed with what I've seen, which is probably a minority view. We miss Kalas imo, and once he's fit I would play Kalas, Klose, Atkinson (assuming its three at the back, which I hope it isn't) as I think that is a safe, experienced back three.
  2. I think Sunderland may be a bit like Hull in that they get stuck in and are a bit cynical, they appear to be a pretty direct side. No surprises with the bloke in charge. Against Coventry at home, they conceded 20 free kicks conceded, 4 yellows, 38% possession, 5 shots on goal, 67% pass completion. For comparison, our away game stats were 7 free kicks conceded, 0 yellows, 45% possession, 4 shots on goal, 79% pass completion.
  3. You've got some weather coming your way, take yer factor 50 it'll be baking in Frankfurt (and Cornwall).
  4. Sold out....again. I'm guessing that they'll find a few more single seats here and there.
  5. Not sure how they've suddenly made those seats available in w17. But it seems like they will get sold given the interest.
  6. Timing is a bit unfortunate, but the player and Bcfc come first.
  7. Wetherspoons lookylikey The Brass Haus. Fine for a Sunday morning, was in there last week when down for the Bournemouth game. Its OK, good breakfast. https://www.brasshaus.co.uk/#/
  8. Officially 27k as far as I am aware. But they can only get max 26.3k bums on seats, as per the Manchester cup games.
  9. Agreed. But too soon for Sunderland I would think. Maybe 30 minutes ?
  10. Way over the odds, but Peterborough tend to get top dollar. Also, Blackburns talisman Dack is satisfyingly knackered so I assume they see Szmodics as a successor. Bit desperate though.
  11. Which would be absolutely correct as its the National Football Museum, not the National Mens Football Museum.
  12. Thats more or less how I saw it. Scott was anonymous (going to get these games from a young player), Dasilva had a very good game, and Vyner was solid and his distribution was much improved. I thought Wilson struggled a bit when he came on tbh. Naismith showed his relative inexperience as a CB a few times but his distribution was very good. I thought James had a great game, getting forward and getting a couple of shots and a header that would have gone in on another day. Conway gave us some movement and pace up front and maybe played himself into contention for a start against Sunderland at the expense of Martin. Disappointing result, and a bit deja vu from seasons past, but we played well in parts against a disjointed Hull who grew into the game and there were positives. Hull have some very good players, I don't expect them to be at the wrong end of the table once they have a settled team. Less said of the officials, especially the referee, the better.
  13. I have to agree. Although I can see Hull growing into the season more so than us with the players they have. Very early doors, and whilst we played well first half, we once again let the performance drop in the second half - no change there. Ref was shite - no change there either. I really don't know why I expected more from today, just start of the season optimism I suppose. Didn't last long.
  14. Wishing you a speedy recovery Marv.
  15. I can't see too many teams in this division being as passive as Huddersfield. That was dreadful from them, they simply weren't ready for the game and rolled over. Burnley were the opposite, very high tempo, getting stuck in, and pressing. Hard to tell how good Burnley are after that Huddersfield capitulation, but they only scored one..
  16. Looks to me that Burnley are ready for the season and Huddersfield aren't - they are very passive and lucky that its still 0-1 at this time.
  17. Heart goes out to him and his family, here's hoping for a full recovery.
  18. Good preview here if anoyone's not seen it; https://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/queensparkrangers/news/58060
  19. Tap water is free. What more do you want ?
  20. Cheap(er) pints for the Sunderland game.. https://www.bcfc.co.uk/news/cheers-to-that/
