  1. What a place that was to play ! Horrendous , with a fair few locals shouting similar most of the game , threatening oppo players , and regularly standing not on the touch line but onto the pitch
  2. I’d have been happy with him a few times Has done a ‘decent’ job at virtually every club. ( Not sure I’d describe his teams as front foot , WSM but they play good football )
  3. Do we still have Lee Johnson’s monster screen, for training , that we paid a fortune for ?
  4. Top man How sensible to ask the questions but particularly to post on here for others Should save Jerry a few repeated questions , at least Very thoughtful
  5. Out of interest Dave Are these charts that you access directly on the sites you subscribe to , or data that you acquire and load into your own / the above format ?
  6. Mods - ( @phantom ) Would it be worth creating a dedicated thread (maybe in ex players forum if thetas staying) for footage of Classic or Old games as an easy find for those wanting to reminisce? It would be good to have them all in one place
  7. Good post WSM , Spot on
  8. The reason they bent over backwards was to keep happy (££££) Newcastle supporters who had paid £600 or so a shot for ‘Corporate’ The theme of the modern game .......Money , Money , Money ....... before , and a priority above anything else
  9. In the modern game , red every day , foot off floor , studs first No intent but dangerous / reckless
  10. Yes , very good points I should have said , for it to work , and it’s possible Those involved all need to have a clear and open agreement , and clear lines , on their roles and importantly a very good working and professional relationship Whether those components are in place.......hmmm.....time will tell , but there are a lot of unknowns in there , besides actually doing it well
  11. That’s it , turned them into little disc cutters !
  12. Or , as I’d assume , buy the design rights or similar , from Umbro and get them made ourselves (Jeeez , , that would end well you just know ) (Yes , the white , still our best home , and away shirts for me)
  13. I used to have a smoke if I was playing in goal
  14. I always thought plastic studs , Ska , sharpened around edges , having walked across concrete in / out of changing rooms etc , were actually more dangerous than metal studs , caused a lot of cuts
  15. That shirt / kit I cannot believe the Club don’t do (Sadly , I guess I do) a , even small, range of ‘Classic’ shirts , if not a range then that shirt - they would fly out
  16. JET would have like them , he could have done two pirouettes and a triple salco as he moved in to net a penalty On a serious note you do well to get through 5 games wearing them without doing a ACL
  17. It wasn’t or shouldn’t have been difficult to articulate (By JL) Dave But my understanding is in simple terms they’ve split a CEOs responsibilities between various people - Is that fair ? Tinnion is basically heading and overseeing the recruitment , academy , and providing football opinions , he won’t be sat long hours into the night, doing the books or negotiating commercial deals etc etc In some ways it seems a pretty sound mix of skill sets (Dependant on how good those individuals are in their areas of course) From the outside I would say it appears Tinnions power and status has grown rapidly as he is the single voice , above LM and staff that has any football pedigree His ongoing , football calls , and opinions appear to be a very significant part in the Clubs success , or otherwise in the coming months , years , as it stands. * FWIW I’m not convinced that LM will be a shrinking violet (Internally) and is clearly focused and driven , and pretty sure he won’t be afraid to have his input (In a business , analytical manner) That , If right , is good and important IMHO
  18. Something about players that cross the Irish Sea , particularly from ROI I always feel , maybe just a hunch , and skewed memories (Not with us but across English football) they show genuine hunger and desire , (Knight And Sykes maintaining that feel ) and always seem to fuel a bit more hope of a gem , than recruits from other areas
  19. You are the poster that recently posted several of very rude posts directly at @Never to the dark side (A forum stalwart) regarding his posts threads , because it appears you did not like them , are you not ? ‘whinging’ and ‘growing up’. - I would try looking hard in the mirror
  20. Yes, from my few times on the pitch for different reasons , there always was a gentle crown in the centre , or as you say the camber from there in 360 degrees Ive only been on the pitch once since it was relaid / constructed for desso , but I heard Cotts state that there is a fair slope that runs towards the South Stand , which surprised me if true as it’s never been remotely apparent to me
  21. I saw Klopp lost his wedding ring on the pitch after the Newcastle game , and you could see the panic in his face as he scanned the pitch around him
  22. Think it will be a massive mistake if we sell him or let him disappear OOC Whatever your views on him , he’s shown he’s very capable at this level (Albeit Something not quite right with him atm - off field ?) We could spend waste millions and millions trying to replace him as we’ve proved many times over the years
  23. Rooney and his agent are , (or probably ‘were’)’ now , big mates with Garry Cook
  24. Probably the best result of the Christmas period
