    Good morning ladies & Gents.

I thought it would be a good time to jump back on here with all that’s going on. Plenty of speculation and plenty of comments that aren’t a million miles away from the truth.

Saturday morning I was told if we weren’t to get anything at Cardiff he would be sacked. I was also told that Gary Rowett will be appointed but as I’m aware up untill Saturday he was the only one that’s held talks, but other agents have been sounded out.

The fall out with Pearson has been on going for a number of weeks, it was made clear for everyone to see that there wasn’t going to be a new deal on the table for him and the board started to look elsewhere.

Sunday morning was the final nail in the coffin for Nige when a meeting was held, members of board wanted him to bring or look at free agents, when NP turned round and basically told them to stick it after not having funds to bring in more players in the summer.

Nige has has a great relationship with the players and is very much loved by them, I’m really disappointed as I feel he’s the only relatable person at the club, he gets it, he’s the only person we ever hear from. Gutted to say the least.

     Cheers Shags x

I have no idea who you are or what you know - but this post would have carried so much more substance if it were posted before the Cardiff game.

I already know that he's getting sacked if we didn't get anything at Cardiff..!

And the Rowett rumours have been circulating for a couple of weeks.

Interesting reference to the OOC player suggestion - I've been thinking this for weeks as the injury list has grown & grown & was thinking it must getting close to being an essential, short term, option.

Think you last sentence sums it up perfectly I’m afraid

I think that's what we need to find out.

Everyone seems outraged. I'm not - but I'm certainly surprised - especially at the timing.

If we make an appointment this week that has clear merit to it, then it will make sense.

If we have no plan in place then it's hard to see how it was the right decision to make at this time.

Gonna be Holden situation all over again! Fleming will get it till end of season, the bored saying while we take our time to make correct decision!! He’ll do an ok job keep us up and get a 3 year deal in the summer 😡😡

If we just wanted an "interim" manager for this season - there would be no point whatsoever in replacing NP, who was out of contract then anyway.

The only reason the decision has been made now MUST be because we have a plan in place.

If we don't, then it makes no sense whatsoever..!

  4. Ro protest before we know is being brought in as a replacement seems silly to me.

OK, obviously it's not - but for all we know, we have lined up the next Mckenna.

The time to protest in any way would be if the new manager takes us backwards - not because we've decided to part company with a manager who has his own health problems, has made very little tangible progress on the pitch (some, but still terribly inconsistent) despite having done a good job in cost cutting - which was desperately needed.

The timing of the decision to part company is baffling - injury crisis & no apparent loss of effort or belief in the players towards NP.

2 very winnable games up next & now heading into them in even more dissaray that we already had with all the injuries.

Timing is utterly baffling bit overall decision - well, that depends what the plan is..!

    Can we improve - definitely.

Will we improve - who knows.!

    I didn’t.

Scott Davidson had a vision but nowhere near the money of these people.

Les Kew was basically a parish councillor & small time businessman, I saw him paying to go in a season or two ago. That’s a true red, he took over when Des Williams passed on & backed TC & Joe Jordan as much as he could.

The Russe era was nonsense but over very quickly.

These people are super rich but basically a clown show.

Let's see who come in next & how they get on with the job - then judge it.

At present we are an established Championship club with great facilities, but not looking any real threat to gatecrash the promotion places & that is after very slow improvement during NP's tenure.

Will we implode & plumet, or get someone who can get more from what we've got.?

Could be the right move, could be a disaster.

    We shall see.....

Okay, well I have monitored his teams closely as have many others. Millwall fans wanted him out primarily because they got sick of the football.

If you've monitored his teams closely then you are far better placed to conclude that.

As I say - I've heard that about other managers who haven't turned out that way atall & visa versa (SoD)

I have supported this club for over 50 years, season ticket for over 40 years. Never have I felt so let down by the owners. I’m caught between going on Saturday & protesting or not going.
I appreciate I have paid my money but don’t want to go and feel that shows I’m accepting their decision? Caught between a rock and a very hard place 😡

You supported us through the 1980's & have never felt so let down by our owners..?

Through the Scott Davidson & David Russe &  Les Kew eras....

Do you not think you are being a tad over dramatic..?

I have definitely felt way more let down by people in charge of our club that I do now.

You are talking about his results. I’m talking style of football.  Not interested in watching boring football

I can't say I've monitored his teams that closely.

From what I can see, he's generally regarded as having improved Burton, Birmingham & Millwall in his time there.

Steve Cotterill was supposed to be a bit dull & old school when we appointed him.

I'd have no problem giving him a go at things here, as we are now needing to appoint someone.

Rowett no as the football is dire

    Is it.?

Did a great job at Birmingham until they lost the plot & sacked him for a "glamour" name.

Millwall always managed to finish above us despite having a lesser squad, imho.

To totally rule him out just seems silly - who knows how it work out - but he is available & has experience of doing better at this level than we usually manage to achieve.

Let’s hear them. Yea or no to who you would want out of these and add any more. Let’s keep them realistic though…not people like Graham Potter!

    John Eustace - yes

    Gary Rowett - no

    Dean Smith - no

    Nathan Jones - no

    Michael Beale - maybe

    Steve Bruce - no

    Scott Parker - no

    Liam Manning - yes

    Steven Schaumacher - yes

    Ryan Lowe - maybe

Rowett & Smith could be do a decent job here.

Doesn't mean they would/will - as with any manager - but to just dismiss either seems a bit silly.

  11. No doubt he was committed & did a decent job, under the restraints given to him & has had a shocking injury crisis to deal with.

    Seems very strange timing.

Hard to think of anyone who will be "better" in the circumstances - unless he's made it clear he won't be staying beyond the end of this season & needed replacing at some point anyway.

  12. I'd love be an architect right now - although doubt they'd check if I told them I were.....

"Yes, the best way to redevelop a ground is to knock it down & then apply for planning permission.

Don't worry if the there are hold ups in getting approval, because you can just carry on & start building it anyway - there won't be any problems with that...."

Oh wait.... someone has already jumped ahead of me on that scam...!

Meanwhile assheads suck it up as gospel. They will be discussing their seating arrangements in the new revamped shithole soon (if it hasn't started already ?)

A point re: seating - when he was asked if it would be all seater or mixed & he said "no it will be plenty of standing.... safe standing"

As if he didn't actually have a clue that safe standing areas involve seats being in place.

It might be pertinent to note that there are no laws about domestic violence in Kuwait, you can only be done if you've breached a non-contact order, not for the violence itself. Additionally, "honour killings" of women by male relatives are punished by a fine, not imprisonment.

Unsurprisingly, 82% of Kuwaiti women surveyed said they thought DV was a problem in their country.

I don't think JB's violent tenancies have ever been limited towards his wife.!

Look up his record/history & see attacks on teammates, opposition, fellow managers, members of the public & his wife - those are just the physical abuse charges - he's very well demonstrated his verbal tendencies over the past few weeks....

A lovely "respected friend" for the club to have..!

The new owner mentioned something about loans with repayments covered by increased revenue. As the club is currently losing money all increased revenue would do, should it materialise, is reduces the losses.  The interest on loans is going to make the financial situation worse. He sounded like a nice chap on the Radio Bristol interview, but a bit innocent in football matters.

"Joey Barton is a friend of all of us. We have the upmost respect for him & there will always be a seat here for him any time he wants to come"

Says it all really - tolerating his violent, abusive, scumbag ways, if he is doing an exceptional job is one thing.

Choosing a person like that as your "friend" & being someone you respect, is entirely different & says everything about their level of standards..!

My initial thoughts were that he sound like a nice enough, albeit naive guy - but the reality is that his interview couldn't have been anymore full of empty words & unsubstantiated shite if he'd tried..!

To add to the above comments about JB, you can add...

Manager search - "someone not too experienced - but with experience of promotion from league 1 & possibly higher than that - but young & not experienced"...! Utterly clueless!

Stadium - "FM plans are dead. We will redevelop the Mem in 3 phases - starting with the Sounth stand (which doesn't have planning & is almost fully built, as a temporary structure.!

I'd like a stadium that has capacity for 18-20k, but it will probably be 16-17k.

We will speak to architects & then actually look into doing things properly & maybe even actually apply for planning permission for things from now on..!

No idea how we plan to pay for it! We don't have any money, so will need to see what payday loan sharks might fun the project, for a club that looses money & has no idea what our plans actually are.

We need to create non match day revenue, but don't know how we will do it, or fit anything that could do into the concourses of a bodge job rebuild that we'd have to get done on the cheap.

The whole interview wreaked of no plan, no idea, no money, no clue about how anything works...

Not a chance in hell any of it gets redeveloped. Absolutely none.  New boy will realise, get bored and shocked at the amount of money he’s losing each week and look for a way out.

By far the most likely outcome.

His advisors will have said "just tell the idiots something - they will lap it up, not question a word you are saying & it will buy you a few years, without actually needing to do anything"

  17. Another thing that will be interesting is how they will go about redeveloping the East Side & the Thatchers end.

One by one, those sides of the ground will have to be lost for season, which will reduce their capacity by a substantial amount (comparitively).

Plus to expand either can only be done by reducing their car park areas, which will further impact the congestion on an already over crowded area on match/event days.

I don't think their new owner has really thought it through very much atall - indeed, he didn't even seem to have much idea about how it would be paid for even.!

I can fully see the ground remaining in its current sorry state in 10 years time & then they'll probably release more pie in the sky plans for moving to a new site - & that will be sufficient to keep the deluded halfwits content that the club has "ambitious plans"

The only style ground that I could see fitting on their site footprint is something like Loftus Loftus Road- you know, the horrible, outdated, not really fit for purpose ground..!

Non match day revenue really relies on expansive conference areas - & I can't see how any stand that they could fit onto that site would give adequate provision for facilities like that - let alone the cost of building such facilities, if it were even possible to design.

If Ashton Gate cost £50 million to revamp, several years ago - they'd probably need a similar budget to produce half the size & would struggle to fit into the size of the site anyway.

It will be interesting to see they come up with & then how accepting the local residents will be.!

  18. With anything like a full strength squad back, I think we'd be well placed to compete for top 6.

It's just super frustrating seeing these games slipping by 1 by 1, whilst we are down to such bare bones.

Praying that we can still have too much for the bottom 2 over the next couple of games & take at least 4, if not 6 points & then get a few back over the international break.

A tough run of games straight after that & we desperately need players back otherwise the season is going to descend into an absolute farce!

Going into the season, I thought we looked fairly strong, with 2 players for pretty much every position - but it shows how vulnerable it leaves you with a smaller squad - it's such a hard juggling act.!

If everyone was fit, we have good options all over the pitch & would probably be worried about players becoming unhappy..!

  19. Isn't part of their planning application that their new stand is a "Temporary" structure.... yet now they say it is the 1st phase of their ground redevelopment at which they now plan to stay "permanently"...?

If it's now a long term plan, surely it's not really fit for purpose & therefore needs different planning & design..?

It's a good job this decision has come to light before they have received their planning permission & started to build the thing........ oh, wait.....!
