True that! Pompey fan in the comments reckons Wolves are offering him 15k a week though, doubt we could stretch that far

Just shows the kind of financial muscle we'll be up against in the championship.

Considering we'll be on level playing terms with Hull who spent 40 million pounds in the summer to go down just shows what a tough job it'll be next season.

Anderson is a good player but, like Wagstaff, doesn't really fit in with our system which I fully expect us to persist with next year so it's a no from me.

Would also prefer us to look at more up and coming players, like Jed Wallace, than established players like Anderson who demand more established wages and might not quite care as much.

They're imploding - a good bet for another relegation I think.

Mellis is decent. Aside from that, you can see why they went down!!

Anyways, I'm getting my database together and will try to post some of my desired targets tonight if I get time. It's quite a long list so bear with me.

Nathan Delfouneso - wow his career is going down the pan, Villa had high hopes for him when he was there.

at 24 he still has time on his hands, but Blackpool was the wrong move for him,

he should of dropped another level and reinvent his self, its work for many other players

Look forward to this.

You are one of a few posters on here that has a very good eye for a player.

Always amazes me the knowledge some people on here have of football outside of our club and the league it occupies.

I know you and some of your mates have spent years effectively scouting and I always end up taking an interest in the lesser known players you mention.

Here goes then.  This is a list of players that would be in my database.  I'd be happy if City sign any of these, but of course, they may well have a completely different list of targets.  Just so you know, this is a list of players whom myself and a close group of mates have either watched in person or whom we have very close links to (whether that be other players, managers, agents, fellow scouts, various other contacts within the game), so the usual dull drones of 'played football manager lately' do not apply (although I do anticipate this anyway, ha ha).  Suffice to say, each one of these has been researched by me or my scouting team, so they're not plucked out of the air.

Just to caveat this - I do not expect City to sign all, some, any or none of these, but this is my current database of what I think are in most cases realistic and feasible targets, whether permanent or loan.  Not all would 1st team starters immediately, some would start now, others maybe u21's for a while, some are a long-shot.  There are plenty more on my database who are currently not available in any possible way.

And of the loan list any of Jordan Rossiter, Matt Grimes, Sam Gallagher, George Waring, Jordy Hiwula.

I mentioned Lee Nicholls on the championship out of contract thread a bit back. Would be a decent keeper to get in and would challenge Frankie for a first team spot imo. Also heard that we have been watching Mawson and Nelson for the 2nd half of last season on a regular basis. Some great young talent on your list there Harry. Think of the older players on your list Chris McCann could well be a possibility.

Yep, Mawson & Nelson have definitely been monitored closely.

I heard Reagan Poole from Newport is going on trial at Liverpool. Definitely missed the boat there if he turns out to be good

Yes, Poole signed a new contract recently with Newport following some delays.  Means if Liverpool want him we'll be priced out.

They also took Lavercombe from Torquay on trial too.  Decent keeper.  I do believe Liverpool have a good scout in the South West who is actually a City fan!!

If so, quite shocking he isn't scouting for city! I wonder if he played a part in Liverpool taking herbie Kane from us...

I wouldn't mind loftus cheek or Harrison reed on loan to supplement freeman and smith in midfield. Jury is out on pack in the championship and should we go for Wallace and sign him, I can't see him being a regular instantly

Loftus-Cheek will be playing for Chelsea next year, expect him to be named in the match day squad regularly. Mourinho rarely introduces academy products unless he thinks they're up to it.

He's only been brought in once the title was secured. I'd be surprised to see him in their match day squads next year, given the talent he's up against plus they'll no doubt bring some more names in. Might be loaned to another prem team though, rather than championship. So this was on the list as a long-shot.

Getting Mawson will be a battle too. Said on SSN that he had already had 12 teams in touch with his agent.

Yep, will be a tough ask. But we've monitored him very closely so hopefully we think we're in with a shout?
