Hordur "Hodor" Magnusson - Signed

This would tie into Gary O'Neils comments about being impressed with the quality and calibre of players we were pushing for that convinced him to sign.

GO'N signed fairly early on, so if this was agreed pre-Euros as has been suggested in the article, it could well be one he was alluding to.

As little as we know about Magnusson, he's an international at Juventus. That's rather decent.

I'm also going to presume GO'N was told about our pursuit of Tomlin.

That could well be all of them (told to GO'N) but I wonder whether any more of these rumours were further advanced at the time we signed G'ON for us to be able to demonstrate our ambition. It would look pretty poor to be indicating our ambition for internationals and then signing lower league unknowns.

Look forward to seeing this Magnusson rumour develop.

If the player has confirmed the move, and is following our official twitter page, then I'd imagine he'd be announced fairly early this week.

he may be on  little holiday following the euro's so he may not get announced until we fly out to spain, :)

Did Magnussen start for Iceland

Sorry, not really my specialist subject.....

PS seems like an excellent signing on paper, from the highlights vid he looks excellent on the ball and his positioning is excellent

No. Arnason was ahead of him in the pecking order. A 33 year old that spent the majority of his career as back up to League 1/2 Plymouth Argyle and Rotherham United.

:/

Arnason had a fantastic tournament for Iceland so I think they made the correct decision!

Liked the sound of this until I found out he didn't even play at the euros. Obv could still turn out to be and excellent signing but it worries me a little. I know he plays for Juve but £3m for a player that doesn't even start for Iceland....?

Noy really that scathing as there are lots of similar examples

Giroud ahead of Martial

Kane/Vardy et al ahead of Rashford being just a couple imo

I wouldn't worry about that, England's reserve centre back at the Euro's is valued at £50m!

The fee for this kid is likely to be €3m rather than £3m.

A England reserve centre back is off to Man City for £50m and they can even beat Iceland

That's crazy logic. So by that rational is Rashford not worth £3m?
