Don’t know why she is allowed on here TBH, as not trusted by most. The biggest FIRM in football!

Usually on OTIB - if you abuse/lie to other posters, you get a BAN by the MODS.

As previously discussed I am on here at the request of others.

But surely you can do that without the aid of a button you can press

Not really because her presence irritates me, and of course for anyone else, if you don't like their posting style you have the option to ignore.

Not sure why she can't be blocked like anyone else - but then again, she is referred to as a "club official"

Not sure why you can’t officially ignore me, perhaps the mods can sort as you feel so strongly about my presence and the obvious irritation I cause you.

mods are you able to advise?

In the interest of fairness regarding the Millwall supporter assaulted by Police - I was the person who lodged the official complaint - Julie absolutely did her job in accepting the complaint and passing it on to the appropriate department.

It was dismissed by Plod above her.

She is blameless in the subsequent Police cover-up, and followed up my enquiries efficiently.

The outcome, whilst disgraceful by A+S was not down to her.

I wasn't at Millwall for the return game obviously, but if 10 people are saying some sort of kettling took place - then I would say that their word is as valid as the Police surely.

Pretty sure there is a video doing the rounds showing Police pushing and shoving City fans out there.......

Agree, absolutely disgraceful!
BUT she is part of the same “firm” so she is part of the chain/responsible. She is not to be trusted. Full of dogsh*te (as SonofDuric so eloquently called her).  End off.......

I have only just seen this thread but I left the ground sharpish when the final whistle blew and would guess I was on the first train back to London Bridge after the final whistle. There could have been one earlier that people who left the ground before the final whistle were on but certainly I cannot see how anybody who stayed til the end could have got any train before the one I was on.

I was definitely surprised by the scale of police reaction at London Bridge. I think the question of whether we were “kettled” comes down to definitions. I personally would not have called it kettling - because I would see that as being when police confine people to one area and do not let anyone leave whereas people in actual fact we were escorted promptly to the tube - but certainly anyone who did not want to get the tube would have found it hard to go any other way so I can see why the word kettling is being used. I certainly thought it was a much stronger response than was necessary for a bunch of dejected football fans trying to get home.

The irony in my case is by that point I had my shirt covered by my hoodie and had been keeping my head down and focused on getting back across London ASAP to meet friends and the effect of the police action was to turn me from a commuter nobody would have picked on to someone who was displaying my shirt again and loudly singing Bristol City songs with a load of other supporters at a train station. For me, that was quite a cathartic ending to a frustrating afternoon. Totally get why it was very inconvenient for others though.

I'm not defending the police on this one per se but...

Ask yourself why at Millwall it's the only ground in the country where there is a separate walkway from the station to the away end.

Now, it may well be overkill in 2018- and Millwall have plenty of decent and law abiding fans, but that walkway and that separate entrance was built for a reason.

This post probably won't go down well, but the kettling or at least heavy police presence at Millwall away is not uncommon. Ask yourself why- maybe it's an (albeit example of outdated overkill, and misguided) attempt to keep away fans safe.

Literally, no other club in the country as far as I know has a separate walkway from the station to away end.

(Not digging out Millwall btw- one of the better and more authentic away days as far as I'm concerned, and work permitting etc would probably go again next year).

Whether it's justified these days or not...it was built for a reason, and the hefty police presence likewise.

I totally get that but the police at the stadium and train station had done a pretty good job of ensuring fans departed on different trains. I was more surprised by the police escort and presence at a station that is quite a distance to the ground especially as last time I went to Millwall a few years back, the station nearest the stadium was closed and fans had to walk to Bermondsey so there was way more potential for flashpoints near the ground but nothing like the police presence that met us at London Bridge.

Thanks, it's my first time at Millwall away so maybe it's varied down the years.

Police potential overkill, taking no chances no doubt. Walking to Bermondsey, was that under police escort or?

Can't say the police presence surprised me personally, but then maybe my view of Millwall away is a bit outdated/overegged?

Walking to Bermondsey was literally just a walk - there wasn't any kind of police escort at all that I remember. A few officers about but no more than any other away game. That's why I was so surprised at London Bridge. I have to admit I didn't particularly mind - my goal was to get on the Northern Line as soon as possible and the police probably helped rather than hindered that goal - but I certainly didn't expect it...

Well, perhaps they've beefed it up since their return to this level.

Pretty sure I've read about a hefty police presence at other Millwall away games.

What I tried to do. I am told I cannot ignore this "club official"

Apologies @Loon plage I hadn't realised this was the problem - I have highlighted to the Mods about Julie being down as an employee, so would assume it easier if a "new group" was set up so this can be resolved

This is one above my understanding I'm afraid - so will have to leave for @Tomarse

Yes there was a police escort in Bermondsey of a group of 60/70 Bristol city fans. Police horses and dogs were used in this escort. Also numerous police officers

there is an ongoing investigation into events before this game in Bermondsey so it is difficult at this stage for me to say more but as already stated the policing at London Bridge was to ensure the safety of other fans and to identify those that would cause a risk to disorder. In time I will be able to expand more

So your now saying there WAS a police operation in London Bridge?   How many times does your version of events have to change every time somebody questions the police operation on here?

I wasn’t there but interesting reading the accounts , and carefully worded versions of some , it appears to me pretty clear what happened

The fans have been held and ‘filtered’ (Pushing at least  if not breaking legality) so the Met can try and grab hold of any of those they believed or identified as being involved in the disorder in Bermondsey before the game
