I Love tinman - And he has his qualities. He can certainly spot talent.

But judging how a good a team is and the running of a team - he's proven to be not very good at that. He's a failed manager.

I would trust Nigel Pearson far more than Tinman. Club making a massive mistake.

As will anyone we appoint be - somewhere!

Check out 2004/05, Tinnion's sole full season in charge - missed the playoffs by a point, might have made it had he not acquiesced to SL's instruction to have Keith Millen as his No.2. Win rate 39%.

OK, 05/06 started badly and ended after 8 [1-3-4] games with that 7-1 thrashing at Swansea. That takes his win % down to 36.1% which places him in the middle of the all time managerial record.

I think Tinnion answers - accurately or otherwise - in the interview. It seems to be fairly clearly about the ability to keep the squad fit and injury free. True or not, that seems to be what he's pinning it on.

Yes, but it just comes across as a bit vague and unconvincing. And it’s certainly an unusual reason for a manager’s dismissal.

Similar with the JL interview - albeit he isn’t a public speaker and never seems comfortable in that position.

I just get then sense (and there have been times when I’ve seen similar at work) it’s one of those situations where they feel they can’t talk about something and so are skirting around trying to come up with other things - not necessarily making those other things up but just giving them more emphasis than they warrant.

He isn't being held hostage, he's part of the problem.

SL, JL and BT didn't want Nige around upsetting them anymore.

BT has previous with getting Danny Wilson out the door to get his opportunity. Yeah Wilson wasn't perfect but the way he got pushed didn't settle right with me.

BT didn't answer the question about the club not investing enough money in the summer, he's towing the party line so he has his nice cushty job working for father Steve.

Same old Bristol City. Jobs for the boys.

It wasn't going to happen overnight but you could see steady progression year on year, little improvements and a team that fights for our club and they have to do their best to throw it all away.

What a man Nigel, having to put up with these children and actually getting us in the right direction.

Ignoring the end of that where he was blowing smoke for the good old party line.

Most of that is exactly what Pearson has brought to the Club.

Targeted recruitment.

Organised playing style.

Front foot football

Blah blah blah

Could have been lifted from any interview over the recent past.

The only difference seems to be that BT has more say, and we will have a Coach rather than Manager.

Looked nervous but excited

Confirmed that were buying to fit system ala money ball

New coach will work in those parameters

Mentioned player care and health

Youth pathway to continue.

Failing to see what the brouhaha is about tbh

I remember NP saying most of this recently i.e. within the last couple of weeks.

So if all of this was already happening and over 2 years in to that work. Why then start again with somebody that hasn't got a clue about the ethos of the club. whichever way this is dressed up, it is complete rubbish.

Do you think they really do think we should be in the top six and competing? I'm not sure anyone else does.

It would still have pissed so many people off, but if they'd come out and said that their relationship with Pearson was simply untenable for various reasons and it was proving completely impossible to run the club with that relationship they had... at least it would have been truthful?

Basically confirms what's been suggested...that in their opinion we have a good squad, and should be up there. But...the problem has been injuries...and they are putting that down to the previous regime not looking after the players properly .

As Nige said  all but one of the 11 injuries were impact injuries sustained in matches and unavoidable. They were obviously throwing that flimsy excuse about poor training at him as a prelude to initiating their masterplan.

**** off Tins. Good footballer, damaging the club with his impact again outside of playing.

Looks as nervous as JL as well. They all know they're in trouble now.

Body language was awful, like he was reading a script with SL stood behand him.

So we get a coach and tell him how he has to play. Good luck with that message

Tinnion gets away with a lot because of his legendary player status.

Take that away and you have a bit of a thick sounding bloke with a terrible coaching record and no particular leadership skills who is apparently qualified to be technical director.

Can’t imagine he would have interviewed for the job very well.

Whole club needs a complete clear out at the top. The only one who should still be here is the one these pillocks just got rid of.

That’s actually quite an upsetting and depressing watch; a once lauded legend of the club clearly deluded and influenced by charlatans.

We’ve discussed on here how the Lansdowns have destroyed their legacy; Tinnion is doing the same by the looks of it. No one, including a player legend, is bigger than the club and it’s fans.

It's definitely very very odd.

Yes , exactly this. They really must think we’re all stupid.

So how many times have I read on here over the years we need a football man running the football side of the club, we have one and someone with a history at the club, obviously good and bad, but still knows the club well and has a passion for it. Not that long ago, they were plenty of threads of what a great job BT is doing, but all of a sudden he does not follow the OTIB way of thinking and he is a snake **** and got knows what else he has been called jumping on a bandwagon.

You do not have to be a rocket scientist to see that there was a big bust up and disagreements behind the scenes and from comments made in that interview probable to do with training and player injuries, anyone who thought the reasons given are the full story are naive and equally those who think the club will come out and explain and give details of whats gone on are even more naive, businesses rightly do not wash there laundry in public.

Yes I am gutted NP has gone and now hope we get a new manager who takes us forward, its good to hear we are not changing direction, only history will show if it was a good or bad decision.
