OneTeamInBristol
What a win for Gilding, anyone know what that win does to boost his rankings up to?
Gillies Downs Leeds
Some cracking darts so far at the world matchplay in Blackpool. Van Gerwin, Price and Michael Smith all knocked out by Dolan, Cullen & Dobey respectively. Wouldn't like me to pick the winner now. Gurney was impressive last night disposing of Anderson. RoystonFoote'snephew
Every time I watch Gurney and Cullen play I'm amazed at their performance. Both players have sloppy styles for me, where nothing seems to get lined up and the dart seems to get thrown well in front of themselves and outside of the eye line, but it works for them. Contrast them with the silky throw of Steve Beaton who sadly now cannot buy a win on the stage of a televised tournament. As for who will win the Matchplay I haven't a clue but I'd like it to be Ryan Searle.
Port Said Red
Incredible performance by "Cool Hand" Luke Humphries tonight, taking 6 legs in a row at 9-5 down to win 11-9 against MVG. This after MVG had a 9 darter and looked in great form.
Gillies Downs Leeds
Draw for the PDC world championships. See Golding has got the draw they were all dreading, Luke Littler who won the world youth championship last night. Not yet 17 years old but an amazing talent. Incredible last night he averaged nearly 118, against a very good 21 year old. If he was an African footballer though they would be checking his birth certificate, he looks about 30!

Just a promotional thing from Paddy Power, quite clever. Irish bookmaker Paddy Power have today revealed an innovative new-look dartboard ahead of the Paddy Power World Darts Championship, which will take place from December 15 to January 3. As part of their mission to turn the Ally Pally green for the massive sporting occasion, which will be watched by a global audience of millions over the festive period, the tournament’s new sponsors will unveil the brand new dartboard featuring a green treble 20 – replacing the traditional red - during today’s official launch event in London. The boards have been produced by Winmau - the PDC's official equipment supplier - and will sit at the centre of a stage illuminated by an electrifying green backdrop, representing the event’s world-famous live atmosphere. Added to that, masses of Paddy Power merchandise adorning the brand's iconic green colours will be handed out to the 90,000 fans attending the 16-day event. “First impressions mean everything and as new sponsors we want to make our mark - but this isn't just about the fact the Irish are coming,” spokesman Paddy Power said. There is science behind the radical change to the dartboard’s traditional colours; research has shown the colour green sits at the centre of our visual spectrum while red and blue reside at either end of the scale, making them harder to see. That means not only is green the colour we perceive more accurately, but it also aids improved precision and decreased eye fatigue. “Our aim is to help make the standard of the first ever Paddy Power World Darts Championship like something you've never seen before,” Paddy continued. "We saw last year's tournament make headlines all over the world. Hopefully we can play a small part in making this year's just that 1 per cent better. "And yes - as an Irish brand, the thought of invading an icon of British pub culture and turning the treble 20 green had its own added appeal." Speaking about the change, PDC chief executive Matthew Porter added: “We have always said as an organisation that we want to move and evolve with the times. “If after 30 years of our World Championship being played on a traditional dartboard, change means improvement for the standard and quality of the sport, and it directly benefits the health of players, then we owe it to them to give it a go. "We saw 901 180s struck during last year’s tournament and maybe we’ll break the 1,000 mark this year for the first time ever. It's great to be working with Paddy Power and we hope the players are as excited about this change as we are." Players present at today’s launch will have their first opportunity to practice on the new boards, with current World Champion Michael Smith, former winners Michael van Gerwen and Gerwyn Price and “Queen of the Palace” Fallon Sherrock set to see the new design first-hand. All the boards given out to fans and sponsors and guests will have the green 180 as well as the ones used in the Exhibition matches but for all the proper matches they will be the traditional red. They even got Sky Sports with it as they reported on it happening as well.
frenchred
Whose everybody thinking will win this year? Michael Smith again? MVG resurgence?Price? Luke Humphreys? Aspinal? Any outsiders worth a punt?
Gillies Downs Leeds
Can't see past Luke Humphries at the moment. Unbelievable form at present. As a bit of a outsider think Nathan Aspinall will go well. In the same part of draw as Humphries though.

Robbored
Hmmm……surprised at the odds earlier with Smith at 10–1, great odds considering he’s the current holder. More decent odds on Aspinall at 28-1 - surely worth a tenner…….
