When it happens - as with Deeney - overwhelmingly the reaction amongst fans and media is one of outrage and disgust. However - why is that so? I get that a manager publicly calling a player out can have a negative impact on said player who may react poorly but who also react with an “I’ll show you” attitude and up his game. I can remember GJ publicly blaming Vasko for ‘not doing his job’ after City had conceded a goal. I can’t recall whether or not Vasko played under GJ again. Clearly the manager knowing the players (which Deeney did not) would determine whether or not a player would react in a positive manner to being thrown under the bus. Does it work for fans as well? Given that it was over 15 years ago and you STILL bring your anti GJ rhetoric into virtually every thread wherever possible It's a fair assumption that you shat yourself............big time 1 2

myol'man
I know that it's a proper basket case club, but certainly makes sense for our Steve. Only up the road, nice little earner plus free fruit & veg. https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/former-bristol-city-manager-steve-9054633
Mr Popodopolous
Glad to see Cotts back in the game, it's near Cheltenham. He's one of those who hasn't really got what he deserved from football albeit his popularity elsewhere is variable at best. Birmingham fans e.g. really didn't seem to be keen..

Because the recruitment at FGR over the last 18 months has been shocking.
GrahamC
Big fan of Cotts, if he keeps them up that would be some achievement. Expect Wilbs in to follow him.

Midlands Robin
With Shrewsbury looking like that decision to force Cotts out was a really clever one and if Cotts could keep FGR up, that would make for an interesting fixture next season.
