Option A: Achnowledge and facilitate the attempt to improve the atmosphere while reaching out in good will to affected fans

Option B: Try to shut it down, no improved atmosphere, indignant fans and most likely, disgruntled season ticket holders having to endure "Ultras" continuing their attempts

    Very simplistic and naive.

    Option C

Approach the club or the supporters club and trust to discuss possibilities. I always understood the Dolman to be too steep and not enough room between the seats for standing. Talking will at least tell you if it's even possible.

    Option  D

Realise that nothing is going to be achieved mid season so put all your effort in for next.

    Option E

Prove you are serious by helping to fund some of the things you want or do you expect the club to pay? (Don't worry, I know the answer)

    Option F

Realise, just for one minute that YOU bought your current ticket, no one else. That entitles you to sit in that seat and nowhere else. Think also about the current season ticket holders there, why should they move? Especially mid season.

Come on, you must know all this surely! You can't just take over an area because you feel like it, it doesn't work that way.

Communicate, discuss, see what's possible, ask, don't demand, get the SC@T on board first. But be realistic..... for NEXT season.

Finally, if you bought a ticket to see your favourite band, let's say at the gate. You paid more than some to be on the pitch, nice position near the front. When you arrived all the seats on the pitch were taken! Some people had got onto the pitch and the stewards could do nothing about it.

Sorry Sir, but we couldn't stop them but you can choose another seat in the stands.....?

    But true.

Oh well in which case I choose to sit in a corporate box, get free food and drinks all afternoon.

The ONLY time you can pick where you sit at the football, cinema, theatre, boxing match or anywhere that a ticket is required for entry is when you actually buy that ticket!!

How would you feel if someone was sat in your seat? Maybe leaving no room for friends or family?

Pathetic to think you can just sit where you want.....

Im not saying they should be forced to move, but offered the option to if they want

Where do you sit? Would you like it? What about those who sit with family or friends?

Sit Where your ticket says, after all, YOU CHOSE IT!!!!!

Yep. I was very happy with how Pearson set us up yesterday. And I was also very happy with how the game was managed.
Was chatting to friends at half time about how we thought we might approach the 2nd half after their goal and I was delighted that we didn’t try to sit back and play counter, but that we went for the throat.
Overall, I was very happy with how Pearson managed the game from start to finish.

You are correct of course that I’m not his biggest fan, but I can still see when something is good. And yesterday was good.

I’d also add that I’ve not once called for Pearson’s head. I’ve been critical, but I’ve not called for him to leave.
I’m actually very solidly of the opinion that he should see this season out.
I actually think we just about have enough to stay up and performances like yesterday fill me with the confidence that we will. But there have been many other performances this season where I’ve really worried if he could keep us up.

More of yesterday and we’ll be fine. But for me, I actually want Pearson to complete this season, and we’ll judge him after the full 46 games. But that won’t stop me making what I feel is justified criticism in the meantime. If I see something I don’t like I’ll say it. And that doesn’t make me negative, it’s just what I see and what concerns me.

Thank you, a very fair post that helps me understand exactly where you are coming from.

I'll try to be more reasonable in future.

    Honest......

    Weird.

It’s a thread about a specific player and many other replies on here have suggested that aside from the 2 goals he was average at best. But you decide to single out mine.

Fair enough. But look at what I said. I said his work rate is good. I said he hit 2 goals. Both positives.
My critique of him is that his crossing is substandard. Go and watch it again if you need to, but you’ll have trouble finding me a single good cross.

Not weird at all, you understand the point I'm making I'm sure.

Normally you critique the manager. Negatively most of the time. Not one comment today. Now I've not read every thread so I will apologise now if you have.

By the way, what did you think of the manager today?

Were you happy with the team? Result?

    Just asking for a friend...

If it wasn’t for the 2 goals he’d have probably ranked as a 6/10 for me.
Countless times he failed to deliver when in a good crossing position. Including one where he just passed it out of play! I may be wrong but I also think it was his poor decision which lead to their penalty, where I think he made a sloppy error which then resulted in their attack.
I swear he probably looks really good in training, where they use dummies or manikins - he probably delivers an amazing cross. Problem is, when you’re up against an actual opponent, the defender has the ability to move a little bit and maybe even stick out a leg to block a cross. Sykes simply doesn’t work himself the extra half yard of space to whip the cross beyond the full back.
2 goals - brilliant. And well done.
Workrate - very good. Keep it up.
Quality on the ball and delivery of cross - very poor.
    Sorry.

Well done! You managed to get a negative post in there somehow!!!

Must have been a disappointing day for you, not really an opportunity for you to post your usual anti Pearson crap.

Can't you seriously just enjoy a really good performance and result?

I would make the whole of the South Stand standing also.  We shouldn't forget that traditionally seating was always at the side of the pitch.  Will never happen though!

Traditionally maybe, until the Taylor report...

    What’s he supposed to say?
    Well, nothing contradictory.
We’ve already made it clear we’re willing to talk to clubs about him. It’s no secret.
Why then begin to pretend that “we don’t wanna leave ourselves short”. Well, if you don’t wanna leave yourself short don’t get rid.
But you know you wanna get rid so therefore you know you’ll be short. Plus you already signed his replacement.
    It’s just nonsense.
If we get a satisfactory offer, he’s gone. No more to it than that. Don’t start lining up excuses that “we’ll be short” if he goes.

Rearrange this well known phrase or saying

That seems a fair way to go, can't see any problems with (short of dislocation of fans I guess but there have been moved before).

Initially placing the Heineken Lounge near a noisier vocal area with language seemed a problem but the Lansdown being built has resolved all of that.

I'm not sure moving fans again just because they have been moved before is the right thing to do.

I don't know where you sit @Mr Popodopolous but if you currently sit with family or friends the chances of replicating that somewhere else in the stadium is remote  especially given the sheer numbers involved.

How would you feel if you were told to move your seat?

People should retain their current seats and the thought of a large number of fans trying to force their way into another section appauls me.

People bought the ticket for their current seat, no one forced them it was their choice. If they want to move to a different location, there's always next season.

No, we all have one job, which is to support the team. If you’re not happy with S82’s efforts you’re more than welcome to show them how it’s done. If you’re there with your mouth closed for the entire game then you’ve not got a leg to stand on in my opinion.

I’m not saying S82 doesn’t have its flaws by the way, but seeing people who don’t do anything to generate atmosphere whine about those that do annoys me.

Sorry you miss understand me, you do help create an atmosphere, but not nearly enough....

Some people will never be happy. Moan about S82 not supporting the team, moan that Ashton Gate isn’t a tough place to come and then moan about people moving to a different part of the ground to try and create an atmosphere. All while spending 90 minutes sat in silence.

The S82 guys can’t win with some fans.

I think you need to remember that most of the negative posters probably stood on the old east end (myself included).

We were the only group that sang and bought atmosphere. We were the beating heart and the centre of vociferous support. We started chanting at 2 o'clock not sometime after 3 after something happened. We cranked up and built an atmosphere.

If there was a large group of opposition supporters, fine. If there wasn't, fine. Made no difference.

Section 82 got what it asked for. You can now stand up. You are also in the best area ( between the rest of the South stand and the Dolman) to get others to sing.

Come on, you have one job......

    Pearson talking in riddles again.

So, we are prepared to let him go if the price is right.
But we have to be careful not to leave ourselves short.

But we’re prepared to leave ourselves short if we get a good enough offer.

I wouldn't say riddles, more like keeping his cards close to his chest.

Seems a sensible approach to me....

  13. Are the supporters club and trust now going to have to pop into the three lions to make sure they are happy with any future agreements?

An awful lot of work was done to get a safe standing area installed and now they want to move?

When the current "singing section" actually sing, they are joined by loads in the rest of the South stand and Dolman.....  they just need to sing....

I was appalled the other week when Scott Murray had his half time presentation. His surfer flag flew proudly before the game but, when it mattered most, at half time, it wasn't there. That area was empty. Everyone buggered off to have a pint! Great way to treat a legend!

It's nowt to do with the area, THEY need to do better....

No, it is time for a change.....

WE WANT OUR EAST END SUPPORT BACK!!!!

No point having a "singing section" that doesn’t sing is it?

The old east end (that I stood on) would start singing an hour before kick off. Would sing throughout the game. Would be the beating heart of the supporters. We didn't need the team to get us singing.

Also what was the point of bringing the Scot Murray surfer flag and fly it before the match but then all bugger off for a pint when the great man was on the pitch at half time for a club presentation?

So, before people start demonstrating that they "Want their club back" the rest of us want to know....

What are you going to do with it?

Whos going to finance any changes?

Are you going to have a whip round in the pub to finance this year's losses?

Many other questions but I just can't be arsed.

Sorry, but it's embarrassing and I for one will boo well, if I can stop laughing...

  15. Yes i see your point but the way the team is set up allows Weiman to get forward.

Against Watford? He got into the box and delivered a brilliant header which would normally have hit the back of the net but for an outstanding save.

He then had a dribble into the box.

Both of these chances were because he arrived late and was not marked.

He scored 20 goals last season and also played right wingback last season.

He's an outstanding athlete and will always give 100% and positively affect the game wherever he plays.

A very positive appointment, could probably teach Richard a thing or two about being a football CEO?

Some good news at last and he’s here for the January window, I expect to see a lot of player movement.

He will have a lot of experience dealing with agents etc.

Richard Gould will be overseeing the January transfer window and although this looks a great appointment, it's still a shame Richard is leaving.
