Obviously referring to LJ and his two dreadful runs.

Well with @Fordy62 I assumed he was trying to denigrate LJ.  But with, as you put it, his two dreadful runs, did we not win at home for this many games?  Or indeed with any other manager in the history of the club?

Just putting it out there… I’m still well behind Nige if we lose tomorrow. We backed unproven managers to the hilt, it’s time to afford the same treatment to Nige.

I've wanted "Nige" sacked for a long time now.  It amazes me how people keep finding positives to praise Nige despite all the evidence. (But of course Covid, no money blah blah blah)

But the highlighted bit interests me.  Who have we backed "to the hilt" recently?  Who has had 16, 17 (I forget to be honest) home games without a win who we have backed?

(But Covid, no money, awful squad blah blah blah)

Tammy. I've rarely been more jealous of a bloke. Firstly he gets to be star striker for the greatest club on the planet at the tender age of 19, bags 26 goals in the season and leaves a legend who will always be welcomed back. Ok then he has a couple of years at some backwater clubs that we can gloss over. But then he returns to Chelsea, scores freely in his first few weeks of prem life, gets a couple of England caps and then sits on the bench whilst still collecting winners medals for some major trophies.

Now...now he gets to go and live and work in the greatest city the world has ever known. A beacon of western civilisation for millennia, steeped in history and filled with delicious coffee, glorious piazzas and beautiful women.

Tammy my boy you are truly blessed. Carry on working hard and remember fortis fortuna adiuvat.

Bit weird if he's going to commute from Bristol to Rome every day.

I’m still amazed at the inconsistency.
We’ve seen some games in the EFL cancelled due to positive tests, others have gone ahead.
Man C had 2 positives on Xmas day and were allowed to carry on and play Newcastle the next day. Now it transpires, 2 days later, that they have more positives. Surely that should mean that all the Newcastle players should isolate for 10 days, but no, they’ll be carrying on as normal.
Just seems really inconsistent in how it’s applied to each team but also how it’s applied vs the rest of the population.

I’m just not ‘getting’ it, to be honest.

    Happy to help @Harry

I can’t see the season restarting at all given we’re still 10-14 weeks from the peak. I reckon it will be ‘season abandoned’ as if it never happened. In that scenario, glad we’re not in the top 6! And glad we’re not Liverpool!

I think exactly this.  They cannot award promotion and relegation based on current standings.  Imagine the legal cases by teams relegated!

Bit annoying as it means Villa get another year of PL funding.

Whitchurch. Either Rush-Back (anyone could be the goalie) or Drop-Back (the goalie could play wherever they wanted but was the goalie nonetheless)

Well. That's how I remember it anyway! Don't forget good old next goal wins too mind!

I didn't grow up.  "rush backs" is how I remember it.  Anyone could be the goalie but the person nearest the jumpers was the goalie. That is, you couldn't randomly decide to use your hands just because...

Never heard of "drop back" goalies.

zero wins in 11 away games.  You can make stats look how you want

OK, here's some stats.  In the last five games home and away we have 8 points.

Brentford, in 11th, have amassed less points.

The bottom 8 teams have amassed less points.  It simply isn't true that we are in relegation form.

But, off you go, and find your scapegoat.

Couldn't view the highlights show from Channel 5 so missed any action, people are going wild over your second goal, by all accounts it was something to behold.    The penalty decision has been questioned by both sides, some say the challenge that lead to it from our goalkeeper was unnecessary but what's done is done.   There's little than can be done after the event.

It's easy for me to say as I follow the team week in week out, score after score, game after game, be it in attendance when possible or using our main forums (TWTD for example) to catch up with events and take in discussion, but for any outsiders you may well be aware we're a something of a poor team and have in fact been that way going back as far as a decade.   For any positive result that may occur, you can rest assured there will be two or three next up that goes against us.

In so many words, feels wrong giving plaudits to an opposition team that's just beaten you but what you may have seen today was your team picking up victory over an opposition that are largely devoid of ideas and creativity with a manager that couldn't finish a three piece jigsaw - and as for revealing the starting line up three days in advance -

Wouldn't go as far to say we handed you three points today, but as is often, we seem to help opposition teams more than we can help ourselves.

I don't mean this in a nasty way but you were comfortably the worse team I've seen at AG this season.  You seemed to be really lightweight up front and, what amazed me most, was that even at 2-0 down in the last 10 minutes there was no especial urgency from your team to attack us.  Very strange tactics.

You will of course finish mid table (ish) so nothing much to worry about.

The most moderate  post I've read in a while. Have you not heard the Earth has been knocked off its axis this evening? And we threw away a 2 goal lead? And you're quite disappointed?

I was using typical British phlegmatic understatement. My wife has just said "It's only a game".

Does anyone know the grounds for justifiable homicide?
