  1. I was rewatching the highlights of yesterdays great win and noticed both teams were wearing white shorts, and Blackburn also had 1 white sleeve.  For a colour blind sufferer it was making it more difficult to pick out the teams.  With the shorts I’m surprised we didn’t change to the black ones if the alternative shirts are not sufficient.  Who cares we won, but surprised they were allowed?

Someone get this man a song already!

Love him and suits that wingback role where imo you need to be more of an attacker than defender and he does that. Just he does the work defensively too. Already rate him near the top of rb/rwb that we have had since promoted back to the championship

Would love to know what Josh Bowler is thinking this morning. Big fish at Blackpool, signs for Forest and immediately loaned to 'big daddies' Olympiakos.

Sounds great to me a few months in Greece with a huge club!

I think there has to be an acceptance here of risk vs reward.

We’ve decided to play from the back, and generally through Kal. As a result, he sees more ball than practically everyone and plays the game as risk vs reward - if he turns the forward, we’re in - if he doesn’t we may be in trouble.

I kind of accept him getting caught in possession on that basis. I’m less positive if he plays dodgy passes, but on balance I think the fact he’s been key to our way of playing is more good than bad.

Related point: Bents is doing better than most thought he would with his feet.

That’s all fair enough, but I think the problem is the distance he is trying to pass the ball between defenders, and his ability to pull off those passes.

The 3rd Blackpool goal wasn’t a result of Naismith playing from the back and getting caught in possession, it was a complete hospital pass in injury time from Naismith and could easily have been avoided with a pass to Bentley.

The pass last night from which they nearly scored was a crazy pass across half the width of the pitch, asking to be intercepted, and not in Naismiths locker to pull off.

As someone else has said, I think he thinks he’s better than he is at passing and he thinks he can execute raking passes across the pitch at will.  Passing the ball that distance between the back 2 shouldn’t happen IMO,

There is a difference between playing out from the back and getting tackled, to giving the ball away when passing to a team mate.  The latter is the problem he needs to address.

  5. Nige came in and had 2 jobs to sort on the playing side:

Scoring: He took over a team which couldn’t score, he changed that last season and we started to create chances, which this season we are converting.

Defending - However, the increased scoring chances left us weak in defence, along with the personnel to defend well.  This season he has recruited well and we are now getting clean sheets and looking more solid.

Nige has slowly but surely turned the ship around, and if we can keep everyone tomorrow then playoffs have to be a possibility.

Any grown adult who spends over £800 on stickers needs to give their head a wobble. Noncey behaviour.

Adults who collect stickers are behaving like “a person who commits a crime involving sex, especially sex with a child”*

    Bit harsh!

What a horrible thing to say.

I doubt very much he envisaged having to stop his chosen career at 31, with the prospect of neurological testing for maybe the rest of his entire life.

Everyone else on this thread has acknowledged his efforts & at times reckless bravery, but you have to have a dig at a bloke who has just had to retire.

    Really well done.

Chill out, it was a joke in response to another post about compensation, no malice intended or a dig at the player, just because I didnt reiterate what others have said doesn’t mean I don’t agree that it’s a bad situation for the player or don’t have respect for what he did for the club, I am human and i do have compassion believe it or not

Bakes would be sent off most weeks as the games gone soft? He was literally playing 9 months ago, has it changed that much in 9 months?

I remember football 9 months ago, jumpers for goalposts, rattles spinning in the crowd, 2 bob to get in, boys used to sneak in under the turnstile, muddy pitches, players could enjoy a pipe at half time, the games gone now

Maybe this is a bit controversial but I doubt Man U would have the same support around the world and in this country if there had not been the terrible air crash in 1958, I think they became a lot of peoples second team and that seems to have endured through the generations, what do you lot think?

I’m 43 and I think the support is down to Sir Alex and the massive success they had.  When I was a kid in the 80’s everyone supported Liverpool cause they were winning.  Maybe in the 50’s that was the case I don’t know, but there have been 4 generations of kids born since then

  10. I was under the impression that the Man Utd away fans are the hardcore of fans as it’s very very difficult to get tickets for away games?  Home games it’s like Alton Towers at Old Trafford but pretty sure away it’s different
