I think it is more likely that Leeds get a result at Brentford than Burnley get a result against Newcastle. Anything is possible but I think Burnley will be relegated.

I think both will lose but we shall see, you never know!

Both Leeds and Burnley sacked their respective managers in an effort to avoid relegation from the PL but now one of them will joining us in the Championship next season.

It just shows that changing managers in a time of difficulty isn’t always the right decision and I firmly believe that had Burnley held on to Dyche that they wouldn’t  be in the precarious situation that they’re currently in. He was relegated first time around with them but bounced straight back up and there’s be no reason why he couldn’t have done the same if they’d gone down again.

The owners of both Burnley and Leeds obviously felt under immense pressure at the possibility of them losing PL status but the  in case of Leeds and Bielsa it’s more understandable with his poor command of English and if whispers are anything to go by his stubborn refusal to change tactics and style of play.

Personally I hope Leeds get relegated.

Since sacking Dyche they have gained 10 points, winning 3 in a row I think, that’s probably kept them in with a sniff of staying up

No I don't...lot of presumption on this thread.

    Hitting perse is wrong.

However...I am in the camp of a smack on the bottom to deter a child from hurting itself or others, if words won't work, or consequences don't work is ok.

Not hitting or beating. But a smack on the bottom with an explanation and hug.

That's my opinion...I'm not going to debate it as I won't change my mind. I grew up in that, and the deterent of a smack on the bum worked.

I don't condone beating or abuse.

I witness more and more, parents trying to control children who are screaming, shouting, throwing absolute tantrums, trying to calm them with words...landing on deaf ears. Often the parents look embarrassed and at a loss as what to do...as words and consequences weren't working.

If you had a child continually running into the road without looking, and not listening to advice or reacting to consequences.........

Indeed...so it was you who mentioned ' young people'...you brought it up. I wasn't talking about young people perse...you changed the subject and incinuated by your reply that it was me.

It's been a gradual drip drip over generations.

Call it a smack, call it a hit, makes no difference, I don’t think it’s right to do either to kids, and I don’t think a lack of doing this is  causing social problems now.

They'll make them that expensive because people will still pay it. It's a generational thing as much as anything I think.

There's 11 years between me and my brother (36/25) and he wouldn't bat an eyelid at spending £60-£80 on a t-shirt.  All our first cars were 4th/5th hand, high mileage corsa's, clio's, fiesta's and mini's. All his mates first cars are A-Class's and 1-Series.

I know it makes me old, and I don't get it. But I'm glad I don't get it. £100 for a football shirt is madness.

The car thing is crazy, I guess for people in their 20’s still live at home as impossible to get on the housing ladder so spend their cash on a ridiculous finance arrangement to buy a car instead!

To me, the more important point here is where the childrens kit price point is. I’ve not bought a replica shirt for years, and there’s something slightly disturbing about overweight middle aged men trying to squeeze themselves into replica kits.

    Each to their own though!

On the Ricky Gervais Podcast World Cup episode, Karl Pilkington makes the point that they should make football shirts in larger sizes, if you are too fat you shouldn’t where one as they look terrible!

Society and the behaviour of ' do as I want' attitude was always going to escalate...because we have taken away discipline and consequences for actions.

Parenting and school discipline has changed too far.

Now we are living with the consequences.

Discipline and education starts in the home. Unfortunately that has eroded.

Too many now blame others...Schools/Government for their own behaviour.

If you can't self control, and think for yourself and need telling, you are becoming more like an animal.

It's only going to get worse.

You’ll be blaming computer games next!  By parenting discipline do you mean hitting?   If yes then I think you are wrong

How would you legalise and regulate it? Get in bed with the cartels? They don't care who dies or what misery it causes, and I'm guessing clean cocaine (if it's possible) would cost more to manufacture. I just don't see how it is possible, and a hard drug would never be legalised.

Where there’s a will there’s a way!  The ‘war on drugs’ is completely lost here, we waste billions of tax payers money in a futile attempt to stop the drugs market and use.  As all coke is made in South America, every nation needs to work together to find a solution, otherwise we are all at the mercy of drug lords and the impact of what they do.

What’s the difference between cocaine and alcohol and fags?

Cigarettes is defo a good comparison because of where the raw material to make them comes from.

Surely the flat fences at Wembley are a danger then. If they are difficult to climb over, then they would be even more of a barrier in an emergency.

I’m guessing not as there are enough exits in Wembley (and new stadiums) to get out in an emergency, I’m not an H&S expert so don’t know but I assume it’s been cleared for use

  10. Wembley has flat horizontal fences which stick out rather than up, which are more difficult to climb over, which is why you don’t get many pitch invasions as Wembley.

    You are talking b******s

    %100

    I promise you

I assume you are referring to the low life minions who run it around the streets

Behind those minions are layers and layers going upwards that accumulate wealth at a staggering rate .

And that wealth is used for even more serious crime like people trafficking, purchasing weapons and terrorism.  The uncomfortable truth that users of coke either don’t know about or don’t care about (which is worse)

Isn't that how it is made though, with petrol and chemicals etc added to it.

The petrol is added to the leaves in a barrel and helps separate the stuff which becomes the cocaine with the other bi products of the leaves, Gordon Ramsey (due to his brother being a drug addict) did a doc on it a few years back.  I would recommend anyone who takes coke watches how it’s made, how many people are involved making it and trafficking it and where their money eventually ends up.

Unless the whole process of making it is regulated and it’s use legalised, everyone who takes coke has blood on their hands I’m afraid.

I can assure you these sorts of things happen quite often in Pubs and Nightclubs

But that’s too much booze and drugs consumed by people who can’t handle it, not societal factors in my view.  That’s too easy an excuse to make.  People from good backgrounds with no societal problems can also punch people in the face if they can’t handle the booze and drugs and are inclined to violence.

  14. 34 minutes ago, 2015 said:

How would you deal with the societal factors?

If Societal factors are the cause, then these sort of incidents should be more frequent and occur across all aspects of life, but they don’t, they happen only at football.

You don’t get somebody under societal pressures going to the theatre to watch Lion King and after a few beers in the interval, running on stage and punching Simba do you!

  15. Why is the Pr*ck Ratio so high per 1000 football fans compared to all other sporting crowds?  It makes me embarrassed to be a football fan this sort of thing.  I keep pedalling the ‘it’s a small minority of fans’ which it is, but that small minority is huge compared to all other sports.

    Hillsborough means that’ll never happen

Wembley has this bungee cord type barrier around the whole of the pitch (they had it at the old wembley too) which makes it very difficult to climb on the pitch.  Not sure why other grounds don’t adopt it

  16. I spoke to a mate of mine who is an FGR fan, he said Wilson is better in attack than in defence, so if we got him and played his as a wing back then ok, if he’s going to be an out and out right back in a back 4, maybe not so good.  That’s all I can add but he said he’s a good prospect

  17. If Rangers or Celtic were in the Championship they would adapt to that level accordingly like all clubs do and then if backed financially would easily push to Prem due to size of clubs IMO, it’s almost irrelevant if the standard is better or worse currently really

Talking of Sottish football....which i rarely can be bothered with.............I see there's a real tense game tonight?  .........Celtic, only 45 points ahead of tonight's  opponents, can clinch  "Yawn!!"  the title tonight?  Why   don't they have a two legged game against Rangers in August, then just have the next 8 months off?  ..............or even better still,  add them to the English Championship, and see if they can both avoid being relegated???

Remind me how Rangers did in Europe this year?
