Some people expect City to have the league's best player in every division. This is impossible , so for some positions City have got to just have a "good" player. Sometimes the standards expected are too high. Dean Gerkin was never rated by a lot of fans but he managed to become first choice keeper for Ipswich. HoldenBall Posted August 1, 2014 Report Share Posted August 1, 2014 Fielding had the number 1 jersey taken off him by Parish, a player who struggled in a league 2 team when he went out on loan.. This was under SoD Then a loan keeper came in, and for the majority of the season played ahead of Fielding.. That was under SC So that's two managers who weren't 100% confident with Fielding in goal.. Says it all for me.
