Terrible in the final third again, just like Russia match. It's all well and good having the ball but we have to be effective with it.

Neither Russia or Slovakia played well. God help us when we come up against a team who know what to do.

We'll just lose, it'll be fine.

2nd, got to hope Portugal win their last game, then it is not so bad.

But my god, how slow were we in the build up in the last half hour. Walking pace. Just lost all our width really and trying to force it in through their centre. Rooney ran at them a few times and lost the ball. No one who can consistently get a good cross in. Shooting from outside the box was pants.

At least our players are well rested...

Went all out to beat Wales in the last game and then totally changed the team for today knowing full well you don't change a winning team. Pointless in my opinion, no good having all the ball and all the play if you cant beat these low rate sides who's claim to fame are beating the big guns in meaningless friendlies. Not out of the realms of possibility that the runners up might be Portugal and you just know what will happen then!!

Tony Pulis, no matter what you think of him is on the money with his comments -

'2-0 is a dangerous score'

Now I just need him to explain the Sheff Utd could clinch top spot in group B.....

Amazing. This is one of my all time favourite posts.

Good work.

Roy. Roy.

We told you not to listen to SoD.

We told you to bring Townsend and Carroll.

Another 90 minutes and we wouldn't score. One dimensional tippy tappy football.

Christ, don't we need another club in the bag!

Tbf every team in the group has put 11 men behind the ball when playing us, it's difficult for any team to break that down.

Wales have strangely had a slight advantage by being a worse team as the opposition comes onto them, leaving space to exploit on the counter.

England played against three teams all looking for a nil-nil. Wales played against three teams looking to win. So much easier.

Poor excuse. we are supposed to have top players!  Wales have championship players FFS.

I think SAF would disagree with you there. You play the best team to beat the opposition. Granted Roy didn't do this either but Johnson changed a winning City time many times to good effect too.

In brief: FFS Roy!

That's brilliant revisionism.  They went out and did it, we didn't.

What I don't understand is surely every team England play in qualifying put 11 men behind the wall and yet England consistently find a way to win. Oh well - not a total disaster and may well end up with an easier team than wales.

Well they certainly were not the worst team tonight, should have been a cricket score !!

and they certainly didnt sit back either

truth is they played largely an unchanged team throughout the group, and its paid off.

Yep, it's laughable that people's opinion is that Wales won the group because they are a worse team? It 's a group format, not a beat your rivals format. Wales did what they had to against 2 poor sides, we didn't.

Hodgson is a joke. Playing all those waster Liverpool players who have a history of choking will get us nowhere. Henderson should be nowhere near the England team. If we can't even break down Slovakia, we have no hope at this championships.

we need a consistent team, bollocks to all the resting, they are playing one game a week. Bollocks to players feelings, the best players should be playing constantly.

owl faced**** needs sacking
