He does have a right to earn. However football is watched and adored by millions of children, who will assume his behaviour is acceptable. Just because he has had his charges dropped, doesn’t mean he’s 100% innocent, he probably has/had the best lawyers in the land.

Plus for his sake, and potential future victims, I'd say its crucial he is removed from the career which has undoubtedly helped lead to his belief that nobody has a right to say no to him..

Be interesting to see what Man Uniteds next stance is going to be.

Ten Haag seems to be doing something that is going right at the moment, especially after the Ronaldo issues. Wouldn't be at all surprised if the club lawyers are all over this already, trying to find a way out of the contract. Bringing the club into disrepute could be one option, it may end up being that the contract is just paid up in full and he's told to do one.

With the Americans trying to sell the club, I doubt they'll want anything like this hanging around for too long.

My personal opinion, he's done in this country regardless of a legal statement. Whoever he plays for (if he does) will be just getting dogs abuse thrown at them for 90 minutes.

Should throw the book at HER. If he didn't do (I don't believe this) she has wasted so much police time,.money and effort, surely grounds for prosecution

Throw the book at her for nearly being forced to have sex. Yeh. Good shout. That’ll send out the right message.

Ugh this thread contains some very odd comments.

I've just got back from giving evidence against my 2nd very abusive ex, so perhaps my heads not in the right place.

However, my first abusive ex, never got arrested, was never charged and it never got very far.

I had tonnes of evidence, but because it didn't reach charging threshold with CPS it couldn't go anywhere, despite the evidence I had and despite everyone confirming they knew the events happened

The abuse is on record, my abuser appears on Claire's Law and the DV and SV is now noted in court as occurring as part of the Small Claims Case I've just won.

They're not charges, but it is on record that they are a violent and sexual abuser.

Charges being dropped is no indication of guilt or innocence

Something to bear in mind.

I totally agree and sympathise with you, hope you are able to move forward in your life and I wish you nothing but health and happiness moving forward x

However greenwoods "partner" is different the evidence was there and she refused to go forward with it. How must her family feel?

She would have been a standard bearer moving forward for abused women, she took the money and lifestyle instead

Go back through this thread, you'll see what her dad said at the time about keeping it all hush hush.

And as I said, he wouldn't be so forgiving if Mason greenwood worked at McDonald's on minimum wage.

Her dad ???

How must she feel? Domestic abuse is far more nuanced than how you’ve portrayed it here. Making statements, having intimate swabs and photographs taken, speaking about private and harrowing experiences in open court while your personality, relationship and life is scrutinised.

Control, coercion, manipulation and isolation are all common tools used by perpetrators on top of physical violence.

‘Refusing to go forward with it’ and ‘taking the money instead’ are unhelpful generalisations and demonstrates a lack of understanding of domestic abuse.

Yet another monster gets away with it. I said in the Mendy thread and I'll repeat here, I thank god every day that I have two sons and no daughters. This world is a truly horrendous place.

You can still educate your sons about how to treat women though.

I wish people wouldn't post on these types of threads with the obligatory "scumbag" type remarks.

At the end of the day the legal system we have decided there wasn't evidence to charge him.  Some of you have thrown her under a bus, some of you continuing to throw him under the bus, but none of you have the full picture.

All you know is this.

Believe me, I will.

Thankfully, they're both empathetic young boys.

My point was that I won't worry about them any time they set foot outside the house. Not once they're teens anyway. But with a girl, you'd have that worry in the back of your mind for the rest of your life.

We heard the tape mate. He's a monster.

I've also got two boys, 4 and 6 I'm hopefull that things will be better in 5 years time once the online harms bill kicks in.  But to be honest I was listening to a story the other day where a young lad tried to strangle his girlfriend after their first kiss becuase he thought that was normal becuase of what he'd been exposed to outside the home.  Don't be nieve to think becuase kids look and appear OK everything's good inside their mind.

Yes we need to educate boys, but we also need to protect them and there is a big gap between what we do to protect boys from toxic porn, social media influencers.  It's a way more complex world than when I was a kid.  I can try my best to control what my kids see.

But I really dislike this notion that we need to educate our children not to rape or abuse women, like anyone ever thought otherwise.

Unfortunately as children get older they are likely to be more influenced by friends, social media, peer pressure and so called role models than their parents.

We were happy to sign Danny Simpson. After which I refused to use my season ticket for rest of season out of principle. So no, I don’t think it’s such a ridiculous comment

I think most fans were strongly against this signing as indeed I was.I seem to remember reading something recently where his partner "admitted " she had made up her allegations against him as an act of revenge. I have no idea wether Danny Simpson  is innocent or guilty.

I've seen this, its hard not to have seen it.  I'm not saying he's innocent, but chipping in with the scumbags got away with it changes nothing, and people chipping in with throwing her under the bus with passive aggressive comments like power of money is  just as bad.  When people start asking what made him this way, we might start making progress......
