ralphindevon
Oh dear, a good toss for Lancs to win and they’re making the most of it with Somerset really struggling to bat and are 12 for 3. Could have been worse with 3 catches being put down off Anderson, one by himself. Worth tuning in to the live feed as we have Bumble and Paul Allott alongside Gibbo
Carey 6
I see Zak Crawley was out for 7 today. Saw a stat a moment ago saying 50% of his innings in the county champ this season have ended with a single digit score. Did hit 170 v Essex the other week though. But not sure it happens enough for him to be a mainstay in the England side. I look forward to him facing Starc first ball of the Ashes and us seeing a repeat of Rory Burns in 2021. Northern Red
That's a nonsense shot by Kohler-Cadmore in the circumstances.
bearded_red
Less than an over after Kohler-Cadmore has lost his stumps having a big swing, Gibson on commentary wants Lammonby to bat ‘more like Kohler-Cadmore’. What a truly ridiculous thing to say.
slartibartfast
I suppose one day Glos will actually get FOUR days full cricket in ?
ralphindevon
It’s a fine line with TKC, we were sitting ducks in the first 10/12 overs, Bartlett in particular just stuck in his crease with only one possible outcome, getting out to Jimmy. TKC did exactly the right thing taking it to the bowlers but must agree the shot he got out to was a step too far.

bearded_red
Anderson off with a ‘minor issue’. No need to bowl another ball in this game I reckon, get himself rested up.. But in all seriousness, really hope he’s not injured.

ralphindevon
Just shows how it’s worth hanging in there if you can. Yesterday morning we were staring down the barrel and reaching a hundred seemed a huge task. Once the we had seen off the new ball, the bowlers tire, Jimmy a huge miss and it’s starting to look easy out there. Won’t say too much about the dropped catches as we’ve still to field and without making excuses I don’t think Old Trafford is an easy ground for catching, seen many drooped there over the years, not sure if it’s the background or the movement after it’s left the bat. Northern Red
From the BBC: Drama in Bristol Second XI Championship While the first XIs take lunch, we can have a look at an amazing game in the second XI Championship between Gloucestershire and Surrey at Bristol. Surrey, featuring Conor McKerr, Dan Moriarty and Amar Virdi who all have plenty of first team cricket between them, took a first-innings lead of 147 but were then shot out for 129 to leave the Glosters 277 for victory. The hosts were 177-9 and about to lose comfortably but Jared Warner has made 83 from number 10 and Luke Charlesworth 34 at number 11 to see Gloucestershire home!
ralphindevon
Rew is one if those rare players that have shone when we first saw him play for England U19. Shone when we first saw him for Somerset and then again in his first full season. And the real rare thing is he hasn't now lost form and succumbed to over coaching but carried on this season. Still 19 but for me he's already moved from promising to very good player ready for England when they need him.......which is a position they're doing ok in at the moment so he may have to wait
ralphindevon
As Somerset fans we don't need reminding how important bonus points are. Really well timed by Overton to get thst 2nd batting point

Port Said Red
A couple of quick wickets and some Bazball to set a total and Glos might actually have a game that has a result in it.
Northern Red
Jimmy not batting suggests something a bit more than a "minor issue".
Lanterne Rouge
Well, we finally got them out after letting Mitchell & Hartley put on 88 for the eighth wicket - how very Somerset. Lead of 35.
Northern Red
Somerset trying to get on with it at least. Weather is set fair for tomorrow so there's still potential for a result.

ralphindevon
Draw must be favourite on this pitch. Nice for Somerset to have a bit of luck with Anderson out injured but I guess playing a 40 years old quick bowler for I think his 4th game this season is always a gamble. Just hope he’s ok.
