    Every era needs a hero.

In 2004 it was @Never to the dark side flying to Newcastle and back in a day just because he thought he could.

Heading into 2022 a new generation will come to cherish @Chicken Georgeposting photos live from a car wash because someone dropped a Miss Millies on his Audi.

We are truly blessed by this nonsense. Onwards OTIB into January, I've just been told by a mate of a mate of a mate that Eddie Nketiah wants more playing time and is available for loan.

    Nketiah, tell me whats wrong

Do you want to start on Sunday?

Your posts are all like this.

If you did any research you would know that Simpson was fit, he isn’t being selected because Pearson thinks he has better options.

All of your posts (you used to post “Pearson out” after every single defeat) have an agenda & are predictable & boring.

All this “ I only asked a question” stuff, of course it is.

Every manager makes mistakes, signs players that don’t work out, that’s just how it is. A balanced view showing both sides is completely beyond some people, though.

What I want to know is how we move on @Hampshire reds in the transfer window, and why @GrahamC isn't making proper use of the ignore button :)

I thought Pring had been booked….I wonder if King did….probably not, but just wondered.

He seemed to be walking off before the ref got a card out and I couldn't see him look back to take the cards. Maybe the ref told him he was off.

How often are the same team of officials appear together at a match? The linesman are loath to get involved unless they can help it as possibly they might be the referee the next time.

They dont fanny around waving their flags nowadays - they are miked and talk to the ref directly. It would be impossible for me to see whether they discuss dubious decisions freom where I sit (my vision if less than perfect (hell, I'd make a good ref)).

I genuinely wonder if he has some deep rooted issue with us.

Apparently he was on Yeovil’s books, so certainly has some connection to this part of the world.

In the 3 games quoted he has given the opposition 4 penalties (2 of which were very dubious) & last night gave every marginal call to QPR.

    He’s either incompetent or biased.

He could be both (or neither according to my legal counsel, but what do they know).

    That doesn't score goals.

I like him, he is raw, unpredictable and not frightened to run at people. However when you're after scoring goals, he's not one to rely on.

Interested to see the odds of him getting the first goal when he starts.

Ha, yeah.We could quote bookies odds and you'd still be laughing this time next year.  I'd imagine true odds to be between 15-1 and 20-1.

Not sure if I am being harsh wondering if Max was correctly positioned and if Bentley might have got a hand to it. Will have to see it again. Went over him I think.

I think the main issue was that there was no-one challenging the scorer. You connect with those and the keeper will usually be in no mans land.

Hard not to reach the conclusion that Cardiff & Swansea are calling off all their home games due to be played behind closed doors in the hope they can re-arrange them when the Welsh Government allows fans back in.

Seems a huge coincidence that not a single game has taken place over the bridge since this announcement.

That wouldn't be a conclusion though, it would be an accusation. Be careful, we don't want the Welsh FA storming the Tobacco Factory and sabotaging the otib server.

Back from Spain for Christmas, I have my EU vaccination passport.  Will that be sufficient to get my in the stadium?

Or Do I need to tag it to something else?

I've read the OS, I think it's enough, but not 100%.

I've attached a screen shot for any expert in the room.

    Screenshot_20211227_223045.jpg

It is listed under clause 17 of city's rules here https://www.bcfc.co.uk/media/64171/agl_2122_covid19_rules-6.pdf as a valid proof of vaccination. That's not to say they know what they're doing at the Gate, and as has been mentioned the passport QR code validation was next to useless against Huddersfield. I'd stick a copy of the pdf on your phone just in case ...

I’m not sure of the arguments for and against and I bet you and @Lrrrcouod go “hammer and tongs” on the subject, but…

…for me in the current climate we need to maximise getting youngsters through our Academy, whether we nab them from other Academies at the right age, or they come all the way through us.

Correct, we are a juggernaut of cost, that will take a long time to turn around!

I wonder what Richard Gould has in store for season ticket (sorry 'card') renewal prices? I'm about the limit of what I'm willing to pay to watch a competent Championship team (and we're not that). My money's on a 30% increase: "thanks for sticking with us, but we're twisting."

This reminds me of those old Spot the Ball photos.

    What a con they were.

Hundreds of crosses entered every time and never won a penny.

I reckon they just pulled winners out of a hat.

They were 'in the judges opinion' weren't they, so it probably didn't really matter where the ball was, especially if the judge was boss-eyed.

its only a matter of time before the game financially implodes

We've been saying that for a good few years now, but it already has hasn't it? Except for some reason no-one is admitting it: Instead they're all 'lets all vote against wage caps' - lets not try to contol talent costs. They've wished all this on themselves.

  14. 37 minutes ago, steviestevieneville said:

You don’t know where we’d be without them. How do you know we wouldn’t be better off. The tripling of the wage bill is his fault . Lack of a recruitment plan & letting Ashton ride roughshod for years. Obviously covid has had a big impact but if he’d had a sustainable recruitment/football plan in place we’d be in a better place

Well said, and my thoughts exactly.

Changing the subject a bit anyone seen the state of the Luton forum . Looks like something from the eighties.

I tried loging on but I am lacking an accustic modem for my Dragon 32.

PS Nice to see the bbc still showing our game is on.

to be fair, when I click on a preview for the Boxing Day game, i don't want to read about how Marley Watkins and Famara Diedhou are gunning for them ?

To be fair that's still as true now as it was then.

Methinks the Premier league will get the winter break they have been angling for by default, I'm surprised most teams haven't got 14 fit players considering the sizes of some of the squads they have.

Well they decided not to postpone fixtures earlier, so they don't really seem to want a break. But I agree they might end up with one anyway.

After a good start to his loan spell, I think he's been on the bench for the last month due to results/performances

I'm sure the loans team have spoken with Grimsby  and if he isn't going to be starting regularly then it's best for all parties that he either a) comes back into the first team fold, or b) get him out on another loan to a club that will give him game time.

    Yep, agreed. From https://forum.thefishy.co.uk/Blah.pl?m-1640016430/

It was time for LJ to go but he was a success for his time here.

    I think if he got partnered with a DOF and a bona fide recruitment team/scouting network rather than Mark Ashton's ego and his Lotus 123 spreadsheet we'd maybe have seen how good LJ could have been. Seriously if we'd just had someone around to give him a slap everytime he was about to say something idiotic there'd be a few less LJ haters;

Interesting to hear Nige’s comments re Pring after the game - was due to start yesterday but Pring himself then said he wasn’t “ready”……not sure that will have gone down well with NP. CP did well when he came on.

It does still beg the question re DaSilva though - as @Davefevs said yesterday; can only assume he’s making up the numbers before we look to move him on in Jan (if there are any takers)

Interesting comment re Pring - I hope "not ready" in terms of fitness only. And that's much better than Nige deciding that AB is a better fit in that position.

Re Dasilva - he seems to be persona non-grata. Can put decent crosses in on his day but I don't think he's a great defender and as we've seen is easy to play against due to us playing narrow (why we do that is another question). Isn't he under contract until June 2023? Might be difficult to shift unless say LJ or MA want him.
