What a thoroughly surprising outcome up at Durham, they’re going to finish it quickly enough that half the Somerset team manage to get back for their bedtimes mind.

I have that classic football song in my head

"How shit must you be, we're winning away"

Well Andy Umeed was worth the wait after all.

Averaged over 87 in this years one day cup. Surely will open when the red ball re starts.

Plenty of time to mull it over though as it’s 4 weeks until we see Somerset play at home again. Still, we had plenty of games in that cold, wet April.

He actually held the record for the slowest century in Championship history until Dom Sibley beat it a few weeks back.

I didn’t know that. He’s been phenomenal in this years one day cup, 172 today at a SR of 117. Come on leaps and bounds.

And, to think.

Somebody, somewhere has actually sat down and planned this.

Yeah what happened?

We’re used to these games producing 6 or 700 runs, yesterday there were less than 450 in both matches combined!

Maybe the pitches doing a bit more with rain we've had. Shame for them as they had a good chance of winning that.

The odd thing is I don’t think we know for certain when the rest of the tournament takes place.

I presume a very similar time to this year, maybe a tad later. Which will mean a long break from the quarter finals to finals day so you lose all momentum for players and fans.

I think a Taunton based team might get dragged into the 100 next year too. If it does I wonder where we’ll play our 50 over games now we don’t have any out grounds
