  1. Great video, somebody should keep adding to that with all the managers since!

Brings back some memories, looks like a long long time ago!  I can’t even remember when it was only 2 points for a win yet I had been going to games for  a few years!

Given the recent upsurge in football violence, seems unlikely that this will run…….???

It doesn’t make any sense to stop people drinking in view of the pitch, it’s a complete false economy, all you are doing is encouraging fans to drink more before the game (because they can’t during the game) and then during half time, if you manage to get a drink, you have to down it in order for you to go back and watch.  I don’t really think fans who want to drink will drink anymore because you can keep your drink with you watching the game.  The biggest risk is probably that plastic pint glasses will be lobbed in the air and fans will get soaked with beer!

Convenient that you ignore he also brought in Simpson who is stealing a wage right now and never looked like he could compete in a quality team. So that makes the (s)hit rate 20% who were worse than what we had.

I’m also over looking he presumably sanctioned releasing Pato who still has more quality than O’Dowda, Palmer and most importantly King?

A colleague of mine lives in the same block as Simpson and apparently he’s flat out on the old Deliveroos!

  5. …you always left the ground on 90 minutes you would have seen us gain 7 more points and we would be sitting 5th in the league!

…we could keep the ball we might be able to see games out!

in other news my Aunty is considering getting a pair so she can be my Uncle!

    Agree.

In fairness you would expect 2500 away fans to make more noise than the home fans at most games. Many times when we’ve had 2500+ at away matches I’ve read comments about us making more noise than the home fans (even when we’ve had less than that).

Atmosphere is dire at times at AG though.

The atmosphere v Man Utd was pretty good.  It’s nothing to do with the new stadium or where fans are sitting, it’s about the dire performances served at home for a number of years which kill the atmosphere. If we are playing great and scoring goals then the atmosphere will be good.

I never knew that he was the dad of Dawn from the office

On the outtakes from The Office, Lucy Davis, who plays Dawn, says that when people find out her dad is Jasper Carrot they always ask why she changed her surname to Davis.  She replies with why did you think Carrot was his real surname!

Half time review from their forum ...

"Swindon’s thin and inferior squad can’t compete with the depth and experience of our squad. Halfway through 3 game winning run, now we are playing better, on a roll, this is how it’s likely to be every week now, opponents thin and inferior squads unable to compete with a rovers side now on a roll. "

    ...oops!

Talk about shooting your bolt early! ??

    An update.

After the Boro v City game in the summer I emailed the Club/SLO/SC&T to ask if they (and Hummel) would take the FA/FIFA guidelines - linked in the quoted post below - into consideration when designing next seasons kits, and if possible, when deciding what kit to wear in each match. The SC&T (I think @Blagdon red perhaps?) brought this to the clubs attention in one of their recent Zoom meetings. I have been told that although it was the final item on a very lengthy agenda, Richard Gould and the others said that yes, they would consider the guidance and take it into consideration.

This is great news. As a club we already have three traditional distinctive kits - Red/White home, White/Black away, and Purple/Green third. With those three colour palettes to choose from we really should be able to have a kit clash that works for everyone in every game we play.

We will see what we get in in the spring, but I am hopeful we won't have too many repeats of the Celtic friendly, the Boro game, or even to a lesser extent last night's match with Millwall.
