Thanks for the positive comments and those of others including @Tafkarmlf & @richwwtk

From the critics, these caught my eye ...

@View from the Dolman "reactionary, petulant, ill informed waffle" -

@billywedlock "worst podcast by a country mile, talk total bollox & misinformation"

@Numero Uno "it's a *hit podcast and the contributors need replacing"

Nothing stopping any of you coming on to give an alternative view - I'll do a pre-season piece with you as a trio if you like.

@Sir Geoff "leaving out Martin, breaking the front 3" - sounds mad in a single sentence but how do you accommodate Scott who can only play in a 3?

@David Brent "no listeners" - published data would suggest otherwise. Nothing I can find on the "irreverent" OSIB but comparing us with the "increasingly safe, nigh on official club pod" that is 3 Peaps, this tells me our following is growing:

Sample: match review podcasts:  the 5 up to Huddersfield at home in December vs. last 5 to this weekend: pre-Christmas 3 Peaps had 18% more downloads, for the more recent period FBC has 14% more downloads, a big swing.

It is all about opinions and, as I have said before Ian is a Piers Morgan type who will attract comments like that made by @Robboredin this current thread, "the negative shite". @NcnsBcfc & @Curr Avon provide a suitable antidote as many have commented.

Love doing it, maybe I should be looking at finding a sponsor if this growth continues!!!!

    You will get Shadow Banned.

The Kool Aid drinking clique hate being confronted with a differing view.

The values used here are nonsense. Negates the whole debate.

edit: I think I've come in late and missed the drama on this one....

Yes but the point was to put out a spreadsheet showing us in roughly the same position as we actually finished, regardless of whether the information it was based on was correct or not.

Hence my scepticism of this particular spreadsheet and to be fair any produced by this particular poster.

I think you’re right. And more and more so in the modern game, it’s about having the rights skills alongside you as part of a team.

At City he didn’t have that - and certainly didn’t get it with Ashton. I’m not sure who he had with him at Sunderland.

Its something we’ve struggled with at City more generally I think. We’ve had our tacticians, our coaches, our motivators but we’ve not managed to combine all those skills either at the same time or in one person,

    Still haven't.

This would be such a terrible move for him. I can’t believe his stock wasn’t higher after leaving us. It’s not like he left us at the bottom of the league after years of fighting relegation. Definitely deserved another club at our level. If he goes up there and it goes wrong he’ll do well to get above league 2, if it goes right it doesn’t really increase his stock anymore. Odd decision for him. Should hang on and wait for something like Rotherham or Peterborough. Even Derby should Rooney not stay.

    He turned down Peterborough.

I reckon O’Dowda, Klose and Cundy will be mentioned as something like “contract discussions ongoing” like we did for Simpson and Weimann.  Maybe King too.

Britton the only senior players released is my guess.

Hoping we hear something on Josh Owers, not seen anything that his contract goes beyond this summer, but I’d be amazed if he was released.  With Ayman’s injury, although different in style, it’s a chance for him to jump up a position in the queue.

Let’s also be mindful of the chance that several Academy players might be part of this news too, and hope that although their time with City might be up, that they go onto to be successful elsewhere or in whatever they pursue next.

    Cundy has already signed !

Don't forget Palmer's not going to be on it as he is under contract.

My memory is there are six players out of contract in the summer.  (There were eight but Martin has signed and Simpson has left).

I think there are six players we are waiting to hear on:

    • Bakinson (seems certain to be released)
    • Britton (strongly rumoured to be being released)
    • Cundy (my guess is we want him to stay but we'll see)
    • King (Not really sure what to expect. Guessing he'll be released but not sure if the Benarous injury changes anything.
    • Klose (my guest is we want him to stay but we'll see)
    • O'Dowda (I think he'll be released but a poster claiming to be ITK reckons he is being offered a new deal on reduced terms)

Other players - such as Palmer, Vyner and Moore - might have been advised to find new clubs but won't be leaving unless they do so or we negotiate a settlement.

Bakinson is not out of contract - He did however hand in a transfer request last Summer that was denied and had is contract extension triggered by this Manager in November.

Cundy was told to find a new club last month but now has been offered a new contract which he has already signed.

    Britton to be released.

My phone calls often cut out up there, Dave, and I struggle to get tinterweb up there too.

It's a shame that it's not built on top of a hill really....... oh, what's that? ?

Coverage is terrible at the HPC. Phone and internet.

Going by vardy and Mahrez I have faith in nige he certainly knows a player and definitely can turn a lower league player into a quality one without spending a fortune. Mahrez signed from ligue 2 for 450 what steal that was at 22 years old.

Pearson didn't "spot" Marhez" to be fair.

He had a brilliant recruitment department.

The kind of quote we heard all season re his recruitment.  At various stages I responded by asking whether it’s best to wait until the end of the season. Well, we are almost here…one week to go.

Here’s my view.  Not meant to be right or wrong, so more rationale than “rating”

    Fees Paid:

Atkinson: started well, suffered mid season through illness / form but has come back strong.  More than happy with Rob.

Tanner: low expectations of minutes overall, and injuries have hampered progress, but looks a decent signing for the future.

    Free Transfers:

James: a bit like Atkinson, started decently, mid-season injury, come back well.  Probably more influential than we think.

King: just hadn’t played enough, although I thought he was decent when he played

    Klose: bloody excellent

    Re-signings:

Weimann: stellar, nothing else to add, other than done this on a smaller wage

Baker: was playing well until injury…such a shame.  Was a risk, didn’t pay off

Simpson: poor signing, only mitigated by him being on a low salary / coaches salary.

My view is that although the above shows a mix of results, I would go with a positive overall (others may disagree), and I’d certainly have no issues with Nige making the decisions on who to sign this summer with limited budget.

Please stop the "Simpson was on a coaches salary nonsense".

Remember years ago, maybe 1992/93 season, end of season we had some people parashot into the ground wearing the following seasons kit.

The first Purple and Lime I think.

Usual jokes aside, I can see Johnson being interested in this one.

Quite close to a different position I hear but yes this could well also interest him you would think.

    A man in demand.
