Good away win for Yate yesterday, moving up the table now. Yate keeper saved 2 pens. See that they have signed striker Leighton Thomas on loan from Hungerford. Was top scorer in the league below last season playing for Paulton. Powerful athletic striker, he played with the young city lad Oputeri and Kyle Tooze in a very attacking side.

For all the many Devon based City fans, we seem to have a new kid on the block.

Brixham through to the last 16 of the FA vase, a great effort and hopefully will be joined by fellow Devonian’s Buckland (Newton Abbot)

Bridgwater, Clevedon and Corsham also still with a chance of joining Brixham in the last 16

Not local, but deffo non league. This was Hackney Marsh in January 62 with over 100 games taking place.

The league obviously didn't produce many wingers back then. Multi-ball games must have happened too.

Fantastic result for Brixham. Raynes Park London side flying high at the top of the Combined Counties Premier League,a level above Brixham.

If Corsham get though their home to Brixham.

Tough for Buckland to progress, home to Ascot United top of Combined Counties North, only lost once this season.

Decent night for Weston, drew 0-0 but second place Truro lost 3-0

Two points clear at the top with two games in hand

Jay (Scott's lad) Murray continues to put in impressive performances

Interesting game further up country last night, lots of problems with racist abuse and fighting

v Tamworth. Not a lot of love lost there I imagine. they`re only about fifteen miles apart.

There's a horrible video online

A guy has been knocked out and someone comes up and kicks his head like a football.

Hopefully gets sent down for this

Another good weekend for Weston, winning 1-0 at Winchester and second place Truro losing 2-1 at Merthyr

Weston extended their lead at the top to 6 points with two games in hand

Sadly for Yate they lost 3-1 at home to North Leigh and are now three points from safety

Sadly can see relegation coming for Yate, there was the new manager bounce, but now they can't buy a result again.

Looking at their remaining fixtures it's difficult to see where any wins will come from

Getting relegated at Merthyr would be ironic considering it was the loss of Paul Michael that started this sorry decline. Hastened by Beadle being shit, and although John Rendall started with a new manager bounce he now appears to be throwing as much crap at the wall and seeing what sticks - seem to be new/loan signings every week which goes with the territory a bit at Yates level but it seems excessive presently.

Ironically staying up/going down won’t do much for Yates attendances - they’ll still bob around the 250 mark and the club (currently) isn’t set up to kick on into NL South.

This season at Yate has been one of the worst I've ever seen.

Lost the manager and assistant from last season. Lost the whole squad from last season. Turnover of staff behind the scenes, then some coming back. Awful appointment of Beadle. Shocking football under him. He lost the players and fans.  And since the return of local manager Rendal, as @Silvio Dante says, it's been a turnover of players leaving, joining, loans in and out. You don't know what you are going to get one week from the next.

I was speaking to Yate Legend Pete Jackson today...he also can't remember such a muddled season.

Sad times, as it's a decent Club. Sadly can't compete financially at this level.

Yeah noticed he signed another Paulton player in the week. Bit of a weird one, Peck, he hasn't been involved for Paulton recently and wasn't a first choice under Rendall either. I agree with what you are saying there seems to be have too many changes and there can't be any consistency in performance.

Not a side we normally keep an eye on but a shout out to Corsham Town who won on penalties at Peacehaven yesterday and are now in the semis of the FA Vase. They`ll play either Ascot, Congleton or Newport Pagnell for a place in the final at Wembley.

The draw for the semi final of the FA Vase has been made:

Corsham Town v Ascot United

Congleton Town v Newport Pagnell Town

Ties to take place on Saturday 1st April.
