Been a shambles this year. Started throwing money at it since Fey came in, although 4 of the new players don't appear to be fit for selection.. Went wrong before Tooze took over, the ex Shepton manager was brought in and he signed a load of their players. They are Western league players and just not good enough. But from what I have heard that is the budget that they and then Toozey were working to. Western league tour next season.

Bemerton, Cribbs, Mousehole and Malvern are the ones that came up for this season

Games are 3 hours + away from Truro so it's going to require a hell of a lot of travelling which of course comes at a big cost or they are going to have to put players up in hotels which also comes at a huge cost. Aside from all the play welfare issues of so many games in a short period, being away from their homes and their day to day jobs is likely to have a big impact on the players too. Truro is likely to make losses on these games even without all these added costs. It's just a really concerning situation all round.

spudski
Had an interesting conversation with someone who's part of running Yate Town. Financially it's better for the Club to stay in this league, as there are more ' local' sides to play against, and they bring a bigger following. They also introduced City and Rovers season ticket holder deals which has increased numbers. I suggested doing more of that. Shame non league football at certain levels is so spread out around the country. It really doesn't help clubs.

wayne allisons tongues
Makes it worse Charnock Richard has just as bad a fixture list. League have said they can extend season if the games left don’t have an effect on promotion. Both teams have so many games left they both can still make the play offs. Going to be interesting to see how this works out.

Not just that. It's the expense and time of getting the team to the other side of the country. Players and staff with jobs that can't take time off work etc It's probably good that clubs understand "their level". Then you get clubs like Bitton that overspend by trying to keep up and land themselves in a load of financial trouble.

The Club i played for back then had a great setup back then with 2 teams with most of the players being from the town or near about . great setup and the first club in the South Devon League to install floodlights. Great times for the club with both teams having some success. Clubhouse was doing a trade everything was good. Then as you say Kid "know your level" A new league was formed, Devon County League. Money was put in the team witch was entirely from Plymouth won the league. Locals had no interest and within two seasons the club was back where they started. Watching Cribbs was a really hard watch, very ‘up and at them’ football, and possibly the worst game I’ve watched all season. Even though Melksham did try to play some football. Watching BMF was very enjoyable though, they play football the right way ( imo ), was a really enjoyable watch. In my view, BMF and Cribbs just how playing styles of teams can be so different, give me BMF every day of the week. I hope they can get the promotion they want. Finally, it’s such a nice feel at BMF, from the music they play, to the good atmosphere and friendliness of the people. Greville Smythe
Gloucester City relegated today after a 1-6 home thumping from Chester. The return to Gloucester really hasn't gone to plan after the 13 year exile. The chairman's "don't go down, don't go bust" mantra has come back to haunt him. At least they'll be more local away games than being in National League North.

Signed from Bristol Manor Farm, very good player.

He's far too good for Southern league div 1, and although others have stepped up since he left it would be great to have that option again and he's on dual registration
Silvio Dante
3-0 win for Yate Town today and it was more than easy, Nick McCootie absolutely immense. Massive game against Larkhall midweek - realistically Yate need 3 from 3 to make playoffs despite being 5th currently but win that and wins against Cribbs (notwithstanding league position) and Tavistock look more straightforward. Bluebells! Edit - Also great to see a 41 year old Craig Woodman on the bench for Willard. Edited April 6 by Silvio Dante

transfer reader
Walton & Hersham have sacked their manager. Appointed in 2020 he got 3 promotions in 3 seasons and has them 5 points outside the playoffs in their first season back at Southern Prem level! The goal he was set was to reach Southern Prem in 5 years and he did it in 3. Surely no manager can be safe with decisions like that? Edit- hadn't seen the thread about it.
