  2. TAKEN FROM: https://torquayunited.com/statement-from-the-administrators-of-torquay-united-afc-limited-2/ The following statement has been issued by the Administrators of the Club: A sale agreement for Torquay United AFC Limited has been reached with The Bryn Consortium of Michael Westcott, Mark Bowes-Cavanagh, Tom Allen, Rob Hawes and Simon Robinson, subject to creditor approval. The proposed company voluntary arrangement would see all tax debts and trade creditors paid in full within six months. Under the terms of the agreement, Torquay United AFC Limited would continue to operate the football club with the new owner becoming the controlling shareholder. Scott Kippax, joint administrator, and partner at Begbies Traynor’s Exeter office, said: “This proposal is the best possible outcome for creditors, the club, and the fans. We are delighted to have reached the point of a conditional sale agreement, which would see all tax debts and trade creditors settled in full in a relatively short period of time. It is good news for the long-term future of the club, and we are pleased to be able to present such a favourable proposal to creditors.” Michael Westcott, the Bryn Consortium lead added: “We are delighted to have provided a positive outcome for all creditors and provided a future for our beloved football club. There is much work to be done in the coming days and weeks, and we will issue a series of updates to supporters next week on the preparations and plans for the forthcomi ng season.”
  3. Presumably this will be on the day of the match?
  4. I think what's sad is that it's likely genuine ticket holders didn't manage to make it in or missed part of the game etc because of these idiots. If this guy felt like he had to be there, he had the chance to be there by buying tickets. I'm not in any club etc. I just went on the uefa site when it looked likely we'd get to the final and easily purchased tickets. I believe there were other sales windows after that too. So he had the opportunity. What baffles me is that despite all the evidence of these people commiting illegal acts and then admitting on camera they did so, they were not convicted of anything and that's why they will just continue to act like this.
  5. Dunno if its true, but a Blackpool fan told me the town coined the name, because the whole place was a black cess pitt of a pool, not much has changed I thought

  7. I have a techy sort of brain which is all fine with 'there's something wrong with the PC/car/washing machine*' sort of Dad role but when I see the talent of Squires it does make me wish I was wired with a bit of art in my head too. * Other domestic problems are available. Regularly...
  8. Saturday is the FA Trophy (FA Cup for professional non league teams) at Wembley. TV coverage on TNT sports 1 at 3.30pm. Earlier it's the FA Vase final (formerly the FA Amateur Cup). TNT Sports 3 from noon. Great Wakering v Romford.
  9. I don't think it's shop stock. I don't remember seeing them in there when I went in for the Rotherham game. I'd assumed this was something they'd put on to get people using up points
  10. This must be management level and above as 'normal' level employees haven't been encouraged to do this from my knowledge, if there is any truth in them doing so
  11. Basso turned down a new contract, despite his agent urging him to sign, as he was convinced Premier League clubs wanted him. Not so but it's a shame it ended badly.
  12. In Another Land - The Rolling Stones
  13. Yes, comes across as a nice bloke - wish him all the best (apart from gas results)....thanks to him for the 'classic' footage!
  14. Not necessarily. If we get a 4 point win and Quins lose but with 2 bonus points, they can finish above us if they beat us (probably). We need 7 points to be certain

  19. Well yes, if it hits the majority threshold- rising tides lift all boats. It is a shame that the Football League via the CFRP couldn't nail Leicester although we debated this before and you thought that a sanction based on a 3rd year in-season Projection may not be so fair. I wonder why they couldn't refer that to the CFRP this season.
  20. Swear filter. Meant to say " Big Brains on the Block" aka *****
  21. I have many memories of 82/3/4 - some sweet and some sour - but getting back to the third was a huge ‘lift' for everyone involved in the club, from Directors through to the long suffering and exceedingly loyal fan base. It was the perfect tonic after some very very hectic and worrying times and made many think that after the Club had almost disappeared, anything was now possible. As for TC, well he is easily summed up in the old saying “cometh the hour - cometh the man”. Alan Dicks is rightly recognised for his outstanding achievements in building a team to take us to the First (Premiership), but TC was the epitome of a football manager for the league we were in at that time. I remember his job interview very well - we were broke, he was ex England and could play - so two for one was a no brainer. And then it really got better when he started to manage - he brought so many good players into the club (Tom Ritchie for one) for unbelievable value and started to build the foundations for a return to the third. TC was a hell of a talker and I do believe he could have sold snow to an Eskimo!!! 1984 was very much down to (the late) Terry Cooper and I agree that his contribution to Bristol City Football Club is not generally recognised enough.
  22. Struggling to think of a worse signing than Diony tbh. The memory of that fateful game v Sunderland when we were 3 up & LJ brought him on, think for Bobby Reid? Shocker
  23. Starting to feel for Peter Wright. He just needs this season to end!
  24. I want to know why I`m mentioned in the second paragraph.
  25. I had a meeting at Ashton gate many years ago about the museum, and left a number of bits and pieces and personal photos i had taken while a photographer at home and away matches. I have had no contact since. Another promise undelivered.
  26. Same, went in Jan about 4 years ago. It was about 3 foot deep in snow. A guide explained that one of the punishments was to make children stand outside barefoot overnight. You can't remotely describe it as an enjoyable experience but I'm glad I went. I wouldn't blame anyone for not going but a visit should be compulsory for anyone that even flirts with extreme nationalist/far right views.
